I have been shopping at Woolies Southland for around 3 years now, and apart from the occasional shelf stacker with really bad body odour I haven't had any issues. Today I shopped at Coles in Southland for the 1st time. Woolieeeeessssss, you need to lift your game!!!!!! I have never seen so many staffed checkouts before. Although I prefer self checkout myself I understand why people want staffed checkouts. It was good to see. The meat, poultry and fish selection is like 100 times better. So many choices and it all just looked fresher. I'm sorry but I think I will go there again :/
It’s time to clean your filthy diary display! Monday 16th April 2024, looks like a third world supermarket
Still my favourite shopping centre! You can buy everything you need for Valen tines here from food, clothing, to chocolates and jewellery.
Thursday the 7th of march around 3pm.nAs a frequent customer to this store I favour the self checkouts due to a mental health condition I have called Obsessive compulsive disorder.nBefore I use the checkouts, sometimes I ask the person working to give the scales a wipe down for me. The woman who’s working most times I’ve asked is the one I’d like to bring to your attention. She’s Indian, short and has dark hair that is always tied up.nThis staff member always seems to have a problem with my request. Like it is a hassle to do her job, or like I am an inconvenience for asking such a simple and quick request that requires minimal effort on her part, and this was all made very apparent on Thursday.nOn this day I asked if she could please wipe down the scales for me, after which she then started to yell at me, walked over to the area where the wipes are kept and saidn“you always ask me every time you come in to wipe it” “I am very busy, it’s not my job” Shocked, uncomfortable and humiliated because everyone was looking at me, I managed to say to her that she was being really rude and that it is her job. That’s when she said that it wasn’t, and then proceeded to say something about if I didn’t like it to speak to a manager.nGetting home I told my partner who then rang up to make a complaint, woolworths seemed to take the matter seriously which I was grateful for and the man he spoke to also told him that it is in fact her job to clean the machines. Receiving a call later that day after following up with what had happened, he spoke to someone different and after reviewing the footage that they said they couldn’t hear either a comment was made that “ she did clean the machine “ which I didn’t appreciate because it was besides the point.nMy partner was told that this lady was spoken to and that employees were told to clean the checkouts on request. However when going in there today 13th of March I signalled her over to ask her to wipe the scale but before I could ask she said she would get me a wipe to clean it myself ? This is not for me to do, I would also think I wouldn’t be allowed to either as a customer.nI asked if she could do it as I couldn’t wipe down something I think is dirty and then touch my shopping, which she did and then proceeded to tell me she can’t wipe it when it’s busy and only when it’s quiet ?nThis lady clearly doesn’t listen to instructions, or understand them, is very very lazy because it takes her a second to get a wipe and wipe the scale area down and basically again told me not to ask her for what I consider “help” when she’s busy because it’s a bother to her.nnThis incident has really triggered me and although it may not seem like nothing to other people, to others it can exaggerate an already crippling mental illness. I feel very uncomfortable to enter this store when I shouldn’t because I did NOTHING wrong. I also feel like i can’t ask for something that should be done because I may get shouted at again or be given another look of annoyance.nnI would like to add that every time I’ve asked I have always said please and thank you which makes the attitude I am greeted with even more unnecessary.nnJust don’t understand how arrogant and lazy people stay employed.
Now this is a Woolworths supermarket!! So so spacious and aisles not too close together. OK it's not my local Moorabbin is but if I'm at Southland then I don't mind popping in, if I need something or even if I don't! Admire is too strong a word, Woolworths appreciation perhaps? Also interesting that this Woolworths is running a raffle for Easter where you can win a big basket of goodies while the Moorabbin, Hampton and Bentleigh stores, are not. Assume all down to the differences in Store Managers. Southland yours does seem better at add-ons.
