One of the better Coles in the neighborhood. Great selection, good bakery, good deli counter and generally good fresh produce. However this is only the case after 10am. Several times when I've had to do a grocery shop before that I've found stock to be low in fresh produce, and no eggs. Perhaps Coles should consider replenishing early in the morning? Other non perishables are also strangely empty.
Coles Southland is a fantastic grocery store! The layout is spacious and easy to navigate, making shopping a breeze. They have an excellent selection of fresh produce, quality meats, and a variety of pantry staples. I love their bakery section, which offers delicious bread and pastries. The staff is always friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. Plus, the store is well-stocked and clean. Whether I’m doing my weekly shopping or just picking up a few items, Coles Southland consistently meets my needs. Highly recommend!
This in my humble opinion is the best Coles in Victoria. I haven’t seen a store bigger than this and has more offerings available anywhere else.nnThe amount of gourmet sections in this store alone is so impressive that you can truly buy everything you need here and not need to go anywhere else in Southland. The Deli section is a showstopper, with its display case a marvel to behold. The They even have a kosher section, something I have never seen at other Coles. The kitchen section on the right side of the store always warrants a pop in, you have sushi, pies, pizzas, salads & other various foods ready to take away and eat.nnThis might be the only Coles store I honestly get excited to go.
Levi who worked the late shift Friday night was really helpful and really polite. When I was flustered and accidentally smashed a tomato base pasta sauce he cleaned up the mess and packed my groceries for me. He was a very empathetic and kind young man and a really great ambassador for Coles Southland. Thank you Levi for taking the time to make sure I was alright and helping me it was much appreciated. My local supermarket in the past 10+ years, which I believe it is one of their flagship stores, was amazing even before the renovation. However, since COVID hit and after the renovation, for whatever reason, this store has started massive shelf filling during business hours instead of the last hour of the day, as well as occasional shelf filling during the day before COVID. It's great to see the store busy again and people working, but please take a look at the photo taken on a very busy weekend mid-day: there are unattended roll cages at the end of every second aisle, staff fulfilling click and collect orders with a trolley, and another roll cage collecting emptied boxes in the same aisle. I've noticed this on multiple occasions regardless of whether it's a weekday, weekend, peak time, or quiet time. With customers shopping with trolleys, it has become a very unpleasant shopping experience in the store itself. I still recall an occasion when a staff member pushing an empty roll cage in a rush was talking to another staff member who is standing at the end of the aisles, without checking he exited one of the aisles where I was just standing around the corner. It could have been a near miss incident, but none of them seemed to care or notice this underlying hazard.
