I absolutely love this Coles store! The store itself is modern, spacious, stocks a huge range of products and is well serviced by lots of parking at Southland. But what has really sold me and made it my number one supermarket of choice is really the staff and atmosphere. In the years I have been shopping at the store, I cannot think of a single poor customer service experience. The staff seem to be universally engaged, happy and really keen to help and provide an excellent level of service. The 'vibe' is upbeat and the culture of the store seems to be really great. Special mention to the click and collect delivery service, which is consistently the best I have come across leaving aside the rude people who park their cars in the dedicated click and collect bays - but that is not Coles' fault. I can unreservedly recommend Coles Southland which is exactly what a great supermarket should be!
Don't trust Coles ordering online for pickup. Coles doesn't check for stock before confirming your order and doesn't even apologise if you drove to collect items they don't have. They push the guilt on customer.. 'you should have check the app, what do you mean you don't have the app, then check the web site.' The web site says order collected when they could not deliver.nExtremely poor customer service, if any. I would avoid at any cost.
Big store. Bananas at the front. Milk at the very back.nPlenty staff when I was there. Liquorland next door.nYou need to work the parking out...
This in my humble opinion is the best Coles in Victoria. I haven’t seen a store bigger than this and has more offerings available anywhere else.nnThe amount of gourmet sections in this store alone is so impressive that you can truly buy everything you need here and not need to go anywhere else in Southland. The Deli section is a showstopper, with its display case a marvel to behold. The They even have a kosher section, something I have never seen at other Coles. The kitchen section on the right side of the store always warrants a pop in, you have sushi, pies, pizzas, salads & other various foods ready to take away and eat.nnThis might be the only Coles store I honestly get excited to go.
I look at Subway as a baseline for pre-made sandwiches and rolls. In my opinion, if you're charging the same or more than them, you need to be noticeably better.nnI don't hold burger places to the same standard, because—let’s be frank—most burger joints run rings around McDonald's or Hungry Jack's.nnI've had some expensive sangas that taste fresh from certain cafés, but not amazing. Coles is another example of that.nnColes I assume uses their own produce, being a supermarket. That likely means their own baguettes, branded cheese or sauces, and deli meats. That’s my guess.nnI got the Prosciutto Baguette $9.50.nIt had prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, spinach, and some pesto.nI assume salt and pepper too, but I could hardly tell—because the sandwich was a little bland.nnThe ingredients seemed fresh, and the baguette was nice and crunchy.nnThere just wasn’t much flavour.nnSome hints of salt in some areas, nothing in others.nnThe sandwich was also a little cold in spots, even though it was toasted.nnIronically, you could make a better sandwich yourself with minimal prep.nnI've tried other sandwiches from them and had similar experiences.nI guess I thought this one might be different?
