Been around this shop for decades. Good variety of food, mostly helpful and friendly staff, happy to help out if they can. Like many other customers I think the fast track lane needs to return. Less than 12 item lane More serviced checkout lanes opened would be appreciated. No point speaking with manager Imaad, clearly doesn't want to speak with customers, not helpful on more then one occasion.
While I normally find Woolworths staff helpful, this morning's experience 18 May trying to buy skinless Salmon steaks was a disappointment. The fish show case had four Salmon steaks on display - none of which looked palatable.nnI told the young person who served me that I wanted to buy skinless Salmon, and asked whether there was more Salmon available. He remained in the stance of being ready to pick Salmon from the display. I said I didn't want those, and did he have more Salmon available, perhaps out the back or in a fridge. He didn't move, but took umbrage at my tone.nnPerhaps Woolworths could train junior staff to be responsive to customer requirements. Perfectly acceptable answers from this junior staff member would have been:nnWe have no more Salmon available - so stop wasting your and my time.nnWe have more Salmon in the fridge; let me go and get a tray of fresh Salmon for you. This would have been the best option.nnOr even, let me take you to the fridge so you can make your own selection of fresh Salmon.nnStaring mutely at the old displayed Salmon and being critical of the customer for speaking meanly should NOT be an option.
Seems the online ordering is the priority rather than in store customers. Shelves are regularly empty of some items with no staff to fill them as they are only interested in racing around with carts for the online orders. Quality of vegetables is extremely poor compared to the high standard they provided ten years ago. Red meat is disgusting. Very poor quality, full of fat and oozes goodness only knows what from the meat when cooking it.
Most staff are friendly however noticing staff picking online orders are becoming more of a pain and don’t give way. Whenever I try to call about a problem with my shop they don’t answer the phone. Probably not enough staff. Replacing local kids jobs with too many self serve checkouts is not the experience I’m after. Fruit and vegetable prices are too expensive for what they are paying farmers.
Overall a great store. The staff are super friendly and it’s always nice and clean. Couldn’t do 5 stars because of the paving out front of the store, there’s always a puddle of water when it rains and there are not enough QR checkins
