Found this place while searching for some Asian food. Ordered the chicken katsu on rice, pad Thai and spring rolls. Springs rolls were simple but good. Wish it came with some dipping sauce though. The chicken katsu was served with a katsu sauce and on a bed of vegetables and rice. The sauce was a tad sour for me and the vegetables could have used some seasoning. Pad Thai was extremely flavourful but was quite oily.nnWe were there for dinner and saw majority of the orders were for takeaway. But great service.
Yakisoba is amazing! So much flavor. Butter chicken was good too, very tender.
This was a nice experience and a good variety of veggie options on the menu.nThere could have been a few more veggies in the stir-fry and the portion size was a bit low, but taste was nice.nThe tempura veggies were good although the tempura chips were a bit cold. Pad Thai also good amount of veggies and portion size.nnThe staff were friendly :nPre-made Sushi in the fridge too.nWas busy with takeaway orders.nnThere is not much indoor seating space....enough for 7 max. There is more outdoor seating though, but it was windy and cold! The table was a bit sticky too, so wouldn't say the dine in experience is the focus for them!nnMy meal came out after everyone else in my group had finished after I had asked if it was coming. They were very apologetic and gave a few extra tempura chips which was nice.nnGood for takeaway. Pretty good prices!!!
Woke up and Roll is a local institution. The Japanese based menu has been slightly ‘Westernised’, but if you want something closer to authenticity you’d need to pay two to 5 times the prices charged at this awesome little place!nnI have only had one meal Wok n’ Roll that did not meet my expectations, and that was because the chicken used was very sinewy and gristly. In my experience this is not the norm. I will update the post if this recurs, it otherwise consider this a little gem
Neat little restaurant, makes good food and quickly as well.nHas a range of sushi.nI wish the peanut satay had a stronger peanut or satay flavour... It was very mild imo but I guess some people would prefer it that way.
