Extremely disappointing experience with Wilson Parking at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre car park.nnI entered at approximately 5:40pm on a quiet Thursday night and left around 10:35pm, only to be charged $66 for what I believed would be standard evening parking. Had I entered roughly 20 minutes later, I would have qualified for the much lower evening rate, yet there was no clear warning at entry that I was about to miss a major pricing threshold.nnTo make matters worse, the mobile booking experience is genuinely poor. I attempted to organise parking beforehand, but the interface did not make it clear whether a booking had successfully completed or not. There was no obvious confirmation or warning, and I reasonably believed I had secured an evening-style rate.nnThe result was an absurdly expensive charge for a near-empty car park on a Thursday night.nnI contacted customer support hoping for a reasonable goodwill adjustment given the unclear booking process and lack of transparency around pricing thresholds, but received only scripted responses and no meaningful consideration of the customer experience.nnI’ve used Wilson Parking regularly in the past, but after this experience I’ll be looking elsewhere in future.
If you’re using this car park for a major event, park as close to the exit as possible. Not near the building entrance. You may also want to leave your event about 10 minutes early to avoid the gridlock that took more than 40 minutes for a stadium’s worth of people to clear at 10:30pm.nI had an absolutely terrible experience here. When the Oprah event finished, thousands of people were all trying to leave at once. It took over 40 minutes just to get out of the car park, bumper to bumper, with no staff directing traffic or managing the flow.nThe whole situation made me feel anxious, and it left such a strong impression that I now worry about being blocked in whenever I need undercover parking. I won’t be parking here again.nI’m not a regular at the Exhibition Centre car park, but after this experience, I can only imagine how disastrous it would be if there were a fire or even a simple breakdown in the exit lane.
We prebooked parking, as we had to be there for 4 days. 22 dollars each day, or you could pay more than double if you don't prebook in advance plenty of parking. Good location. Walking distance to crown casino.
Absolute scammers! Prepay online, tap card to enter and exit and then get charged for 2 parkings. Dispute it and according to Wilson, tapping your card from your phone is not the same as tapping your actual card and registers as a different transaction. I wonder how many times these guys have swindled extra money from unsuspecting customers with their little scam.
I was there yesterday. I had prepaid parking but needed accessible and had recently had an operation. The gentleman the I contacted at the intercom was so helpful and tried his best to accommodate me.
