My husband took my daughter in on 31 January 2022 to pick out a pair of school shoes as she started prep today. She picked the shoes she wanted and the lady told my husband she had two sizes of them. He asked for both of the sizes to try and she said ‘oh no it’s 5.03pm i was supposed to close 3 minutes ago’ and he politely asked if they could quickly try them and she refused!!!! He arrived at the store 15 minutes prior to closing and she was in the middle of serving them but did not complete the service. My daughter was already nervous enough starting Prep not knowing anyone at school and now having to wear her old runners instead of school shoes like the rest of the kids only added to her nerves. I have never been more disgusted at this utter lack of customer service but also just human decency!!!!! Will never ever shop their again
Yesterday my brother in law took my niece to buy her first pair of school shoes. They looked at the shoes and my niece picked what she liked and they were told that they only has two sizes available in that style. My brother in law said we will try both of those, the 'customer service' rep responded 'no its 5.03pm you will have to come back tomorrow' he told this sales person that she starts her first day of prep tomorrow but service was still refused. I am absolutely appalled at this behaviour this little girl who was already nervous to start school after two and half years of lockdowns, isolation and interrupted social interaction with peers witnessed an adult who should be trying their very best after COVID to retain customers show a complete lack of empathy, understanding and professionalism. This sales person should not be in the customer service field nor have the privilege of employment when thousands of other Australians would be more than willing to do the job right after years of struggle and financial hardship. I can see from previous reviews here that this behaviour from this particular Williams staff is common and regularly expected... meaning this woman was not just having a bad day. I think that Williams head office needs to step in and do something about it. I understand that it was after business hours by three minutes however for an extra 5 to 10 mins this person would have had a guaranteed sale and would have made an impression not only on the adult in the store but also on the little girl who has now gone to school in an old pair of runners feeling even more self concious than before.
Went in this morning wanting to buy some boots for my son and myself. The lady working was more interested in chatting on the phone to her friend, was very rude in the way she snapped "we don't sell childrens shoes" at me and didn't even give me the opportunity to say I was also wanting shoes for myself. When she apologized to her friend on the phone for having to speak to me, I gave up and left. 0/10
