As soon as you enter the door of the White Elephant, you'll feel the warm and charming atmosphere of this beautiful hostel, that really makes you feel at home. The Lounge is such a cozy place to hangout with your new friends that quickly become family, play games, be creative or have movie nights! In summer, you can just relax under the fig tree in the big garden. Hygiene wise I haven't seen a cleaner hostel - especially the toilets and showers that get cleaned every day add to the homesy-feeling. If you ever need help or advice on something, Lorin or Gerd are always there to talk to. Thank you so much for making my time in Motueka so wonderful.
We stayed one night after the 4-day Abel Tasman hike. We got everything we needed at that point. A comfortable bed like really nice mattress I reckon in the 4 dorm bedroom, great clean facilities, the garden with a couple of nice benches to sit on. The laundry which works with 2 dollar coins. We checked out at 10 AM but stayed longer the next day to finish the laundry and we felt very welcome to do so! Thank you! Will definitely recommend this place to others.nFunfact: we told our parents that we got to the accommodation, then they sent us a photo of 1993 when they stayed at this exact place. My first dorm experience.nnBooked in with the white elephant, and I was so happy with the price. Once I arrived, I was even more impressed with the facilities. It felt like home. There was no discomfort at all. Everyone was respectful and friendly enough, and if I did feel like talking with someone, the chats would flow. They have done well to set a cozy atmosphere.nnP.s sorry if I snoored to loud
We were here for 3 nights. Very lovely and big accommodation where you find everything you need. The big Garden was Perfect for relaxing and calm down.nWe definitely would come back !
our flight from karamea got postponed by one day because of bad weather. they were super understanding and moved our stay by one night without any extra cost, which we were very grateful for! also the accomodation is really cozy, especially the outdoor seating area. and there is a very cute cat too
