Tried to postpone a booking due to the cyclone. All I got was a email of their terms and conditions which was their way of refusing any kind of refund or postponement. I couldn’t believe they’d treat a regular customer like this so tried to contact them again by email, no response, and ph calls got hung up on before saying anything. Use anyone except these guys.
Wheels on Waiheke were awesome to deal with, Melissa was so lovely and helpful. We a hired a car for 5 days and it was literally the most relaxed and easy going car hire I have ever experienced. Would recommend for anyone who needs a car for more than two days on a bit of a budget. Our car was great, comfy and reliable. Would def use again!
Don't hire from this outfit. We hired a vehicle from this outfit on 24th Dec 21. We were thoroughly disappointed with the quality of service and the price charged on vehicle that was rented out to us. The prices at the adjoining counter was cheaper than what we paid and the vehicle that we were offered was a rickety old vehicle. When I pointed the price difference, the owner rudely brushed me off.
Don’t book with them. Poor customer service. When I called the lady told that they don’t book for just one day. What the hell? Why can’t they book for one day when I need it for one day. They should start considering customer’s request. I called them 2 days in advance. Never gonna call them again. I booked online with Waiheke Rental Cars instead. That’s why I like online bookings. And guess what?? Waiheke on wheels don’t even have online booking option. It sucks.
Book with this business!! Exceptional service. Quick at responding, went above and beyond expectations meeting us at Ferry before official opening hours. Friendly and very helpful, even offering maps of the island to make our trip good. Car was great, super clean. Thanks so much for making our weekend flow seamlessly. 10 out of 10
We rent an oldie for a 24 hours. The car was in good condition. Melissa replied to our questions promptly and explained everything in details. She met us in the ferry pier and was really friendly and no fuss. We are happy with the service and would recommend.
Out of all the car hires on the island, this one had the best prices and the easiest T&C's. Insurance was included as long as you don't over do it. They drop the car off for you at your ferry just at the right time, and you can leave it back where you got it by just paying the $3 parking meter fee. If the car you wanted happens to sell out after you booked it, they should give you a better option like we got a 4x4 instead of a little hatchback for same price.
I made my booking via email and after not having confirmation once I had sent my details through. I rang the number and spoke to Melissa. When she answered, her tone was abrupt, and I felt she was very condescending. She told me they didn’t do that and once they had my details that meant it was confirmed. When I hung up, I thought that was really rude & didn’t know if I really wanted to book with this company. A friend had recommended them and said they were great, so thought would give them the benefit of the doubt. Melissa may have been having a bad day we all have those We were due to pick up the car on the Saturday 11th Jan around 12pm. Melissa had told me to ring or text her when we were on ferry to confirm our timings for pick up. We wanted to come over a bit earlier as had been told about the markets and wanted to go to them. I rang her the day before and I was shut down, not even getting the chance to say anything. She abruptly told me to text her when we were on the ferry. I did this and to be honest it wasn’t a great response either. She was there to meet us and again her tone was very condescending, everyone in our group was taken back by her to be honest. We had to fill the car up with petrol before dropping it off. I backed the car out of our garage and thought I need to know what side petrol cap is on. I turned off the car, shut the door and as I walked around, I heard the car lock. I called Melissa’s number and it went to answer machine. She then texted back saying you have called out of hours. I am not sure what else I was supposed to do as I needed assistance with the car, I had hired from the company There was another phone call before assistance arrived, I put my phone on speaker so all the group could hear it. We were all a bit shocked by her tone. She said that it was impossible to lock keys in car and this car had been on 100 bookings and never had any problems. Well it obviously didn’t like its 101 booking. I am a 53-year-old woman and I will not tolerate been spoken to in the way she spoke to me, so yes, I did bark back at her. The next phone call didn’t get any better. Wayne arrived and again said the whole 100 booking thing, never had a problem before. Really not sure why they didn’t believe me, as I am unsure how I could lock the doors with the keys still in the ignition. He did bring another car with him so if we couldn’t get the keys out, we had another car to get to the ferry. The only reason we wanted to wait was my wallet and phone was in the car. Wayne organised for a guy to come and break into the car as the spare key wouldn’t open the door either. We asked the guy whether this has happened before or is it common with these cars. Funnily enough his reply was YES. It does happen and it obviously happened with this car. Most of our group work in customer service and we understand it can be trying at times. The most important thing we know is, it is our job to make sure the customer walks away being happy. Maybe Melissa needs to take this on board.
After three phones calls and two emails because you cant book online I still have been unable to book a rental car. It states on their website a response in 15 minutes, this is the 3rd day I have tried to contact them. The receptionists excuuses to speak with me ranged from having dental work and in pain to being too busy. Dont waste your time with this company
We rented a older Rav4, but the car was in good condition. They replied to our questions promptly and the communication was great and explained everything in details. She met us in the ferry pier and was really friendly and no fuss. We are happy with the service and would recommend.
