Day Stay unit Whanganui Hosp Endoscopy: Excellent staff and facility. Excellent surgeon. My Primary-care nurse was also caring+competent. Other OR staff awesome too. My Anaesthetist, anaesthetic tech & recovery nurse: were especially kind+competent people.
My husband required a CT scan to be performed at Wanganui Hospital, and this was a first visit there for us we normally go to Palmerston North Hospital. What a breath of fresh air! Imagine: FREE parking close to the front door! Being cheerfully greeted by every person we encountered! His procedure being carried out ON TIME! It was almost too good to be true. But it was true. Wow. Excellent service, clean facility, friendly staff. Great job.
It's a hospital. Some good nurses some good doctors. 1 Female middle aged nurse with short blonde hair on a ward I was sent to was so rude, disrespectful, arrogant and BULLYING I had to leave to get away from her judgemental insults that had me contemplating suicide after only being in her line of judgemental fire for about 10 minutes. Although there was a chance my infection could have resulted in amputation the way I was treated had me feeling like what was the point in getting better if I no longer wanted to be alive. I didn't get her name. BUT I will NEVER Forget her FACE, WORDS, TONE or VOICE. I highly suspect I am not the only person she has treated as less than human, less then deserving of human decency and more like I was put there as a verbal punching bag to make her feel better by making others at their physical worst feel emotionally worthless.
Felt very well taken care of by the WAM team. Really friendly staff, receptionist as well as nurses and doctor Helen. They took time to have a good look at my issues and get everything checked out. They also have a good triage system. There was a wait but I was always told how long approximately I needed to wait for the next step. In and out in about 3 hours, but was first seen after around 30 minutes. Price was good as well for a foreigner. Can recommend to come here!
Fantastic to have a public health system in New Zealand for all & with such a variety of services available like all places most staff excellent such a shame the government doesn't support it more with staff & equipment supplies & more The White Heron cafe a great place to relax with some nice food & coffee etc
