Make sure you come hungry because the meals are huge!! We were all very happy with our meals, with my favourite being the entree calamari and parmie. Delicious. Great outdoor seating area with comfortable seating, cool breeze and kids playground. Seems popular with the locals as it was busy but the service was still quick.
Bistro is always closed, not operating. Rooms are great but are not serviced or replenished during a stay.Food: 1/5
We decided to have lunch here after having heard via the grapevine that they serve great meals. I purchased a chicken Parma with salad and my wife had Thai beef salad. To be honest The Parma was the best that I have had in years and the salad was fresh as well as tasty. Unfortunately the Thai salad was in need of a bit more dressing as my wife said it was a bit dry. The Tavern itself is ok but lacks character.
Went there new years eve to be met with a barman that was rude,arragant and more interested in his hourly wage I would of spent plenty but felt like I wasn't welcome to the point of wanting to ask him into the parking lot. I have made it my new years resolution not to go here as better service is offered on the gutter.

Hello, I am the husband mentioned a review or 2 ago on 23 October. My meal was truely superb! I ordered one of the specials for the evening, the blackened tusk fish fillet with the lime bechamel sauce. It was a very generous fillet, none of the 200g nonsense you get with salmon, it was a fillet from a good sized fish. The flesh was firm, moist and flavoursome. The sauce was a great accompaniment. This was a memorable meal. Thanks for something so special.
Great place for the family and after work. Good menu with great outdoor settings suitable for family eating. Lively place on a Saturday night, usually have music and no shortage of drinkers looking for what they seek. --- Plenty of accommodation for travelers. Good place all round.
Went to a birthday party at the Tavern, it was catered for. The food came out, no plates, no serviettes or serving utensils. We had to go and find serviettes so we had something to put the food on and use our fingers to serve the food. Staff rude, even one staff member entered into a conversation between two people and the conversation had nothing to do with them. Also, it was noted that a staff member went to the male toilet and left without washing their hands so naturally we made sure we were not served by that staff member. The Tavern should review their actions. Very disappointing.
Maryborough can get hot, and it was very warm on the day of my visit. But some innovative people must work here as they had water misting devices set up all around the back undercover area. And it was pretty effective. We had small people with us, so sat beside the playground. The shade was much appreciated and the kids loved the playground. The two young women serving in the bar were a delight. They were happy to discuss drink options and even rescued a wayward balloon. Not so happy in the kitchen - it must be too hot. If you are asked for extra cutlery what the heck is the problem with that? Meals were a mixture. Our 10 year old didn't like the burger but the chips were amazing according to all of us. My whiting was wonderful. Sweet, moist and crumb was just right. A bit more salad would of been nice. The pub classic - chicken parmigiana- was disappointing. Cooked just a little too long it was a tad dry. But the garlic sauce was great. The lasagne was very good. We all tasted it and agreed it was up to our best cook's standard. So you get the idea - a bit hit and miss. But I would not hesitate to go back. That desert bar at $7 for all you can eat is a challenge I must take up one day. Very yummy things included but again, the soft-serve icecream was not pleasant at all. One last thing - the serving sizes are generally very large. The roast of the day looked amazing and the small for $13 is good value. Westside Tavern is worth a visit.
