A really nice park with very cool sculpture and views of the Westgate Bridge.nnNot very accessible if you walk everywhere like me. But you can catch the Fishermans Bend 235,236 Bus from Southern Cross station. And you can walk in via the main car park from Todd Road.
We went there expecting pink lake, but sure there is a lake but it's not like pictures seen online. There was a note at the edge of the lake that mentioned that the lake was last Pink, around 2019 May. It's not worthwhile if you are driving from far like we did, expecting to see something spectacular as shown in pictures online.
For people who want to come to see the pink lake, it really depends on the days. We came on a 25-degree day at 11 am during the day and this is what we saw. Very very subtle pink only. We talked to the worker there and he said he hasn't seen the BRIGHT pink lake since covid. So just keep in mind that if you are coming to see the lake to be as pink as possible, remember to come on a very hot day with no rain for several days. But you might need to lower your expectations a bit if you want to see that bright pink lake you saw on the internet cause that hasn't been seen for a while.
We were here back in April 2019. It was a fine day; the lake was beautiful, a deep pink. It wasn't busy, there weren't many people, but we still had to park on the main street. I strongly encourage all Melbournians to pay this park a visit, at least once. Remember, many visitors travelled hours just to catch a glimpse of this unusual lake. It's nice to explore what our own city has to offer. Highly recommended. I believe you can call the park to ask if the lake is pink before heading over.
Great park. Great for a fish over the road. Great bridge . Nice to relax
