Not many peo­ple can say that they have had pleas­ant mem­o­ries of vis­it­ing a den­tist, even if they felt bet­ter. It is not a fun activ­ity that’s for sure.

My 8 year old daugh­ter is very scared of doc­tors, espe­cially den­tists. So when the time came around for her reg­u­lar den­tist visit, the whole fam­ily got involved in prepa­ra­tion a week in advance. Every­thing from promises to per­sua­sions to nego­ti­a­tion was used.

Since we were going to a new den­tal clinic in West­gate Shop­ping Cen­tre, it gave us some suc­cess­ful tac­tics to lure her for her den­tal appointment.

Vis­it­ing stores and shop­ping together def­i­nitely kept her at ease. Five min­utes after watch­ing a movie of her choice, my daugh­ter and I were in the clinic.

The envi­ron­ment there was relaxed and encour­ag­ing. With a few con­fi­dent steps my daugh­ter was in the den­tal chair. In front of her was a big screen that played funny car­toon scenes with her favourite heroes. My daugh­ter smiled and gig­gled as she sat patiently in the chair. I couldn’t believe it! She was open­ing her mouth just like a big funny ele­phant on the screen. The treat­ment was fast and went smoothly.

I can't speak highly enough of Natalia. I have a deep fear of all things dental related and she was so patient and kind with me. She gave me all the time and sympathy I needed. Also, the treatment was urgent and I had left it until just before I was leaving the country. She went out of her way to make it happen before I got on the plane, even pushing into her own time. Thank you so much.
