We used Lee to take back the windows of our bungalow to bare wood and then repaint them. The effort and attention to detail given to the job was fantastic, so much so that we then had him repaint one entire side of our house. Again the job done was great, 100 year old weatherboards now look new! Would definitely, and have already, recommended to others. Robyn and Russell

Unfortunately I felt very let down by these guys. The job was not finished and I was left with a shocking mess to clean up with empty paint tins, lead paint flakes all through the garden and paths, paint drips on the brick work and other areas plus all the other rubbish to remove (old drop sheets, sand paper, rags and solvent in tins). I think the issue developed because they took on another much bigger job after starting mine so when there was a nice sunny day ideal for painting there was no one working on my house (off working on the bigger job), on the days when the weather was inclement they would spend a two or three hours on my house then head home because of a rain shower. So after putting up with this for 4 months (original estimate was 3 weeks to complete) we didn't see or hear from them for seven weeks by which time it was the middle of winter. Sorry but the idea of having windows open waiting to dry in the middle of winter was not very appealing so we have a house that has the paint partially stripped, partially painted and waiting for warmer weather so I can get started and complete the job. In case you are wondering all Westend Painters invoices were paid on time and in full! Do I feel like I had value for money for the work done? No!

Dear Lee After 30 years in this beautiful old house I decided to put it on the market. I was aware that some of the paintwork, especially on the windows, had deteriorated since the house’s last paint, and I wished to bring it up to presentable, marketable standard. You were one of three painters to quote for the original brief. I appreciated your willingness to listen to my wishes, and to modify the quotes THREE times as I worked through what my budget would allow, and what were the most important areas to attend to. The start date was brought forward at very little notice, to accommodate the marketing plan, and the project was completed in a timely manner. Extra jobs became apparent, and these were also fitted in within the time-frame. I found the painters cheerful and willing to attend to small incidentals along with the main work. Sanding dust was kept to a minimum, and the place left tidy at the end of each day. Colour-matching to existing colours was done skilfully. Some structural repairs and rust treatments were also carried out. My real estate agent was most impressed with the appearance of the house, and this has given me confidence to proceed ahead of schedule. Thank you for a job well-done. I would have no hesitation in recommending Westend Painters. Robin Gamble Epsom 21.5.2015
