I loved it! You could play records with the store turntable and you could decide if you like it. The staff will teach you a lot about turntables and some tricks and tips you can use if you buy a record. The hip hop section is my favorite. The albums are super old school and they take you on a road trip. Prices are pretty good $50-$60 for some pretty iconic records that you might see on the internet for over $100. Overall it is a amazing place and I would recommend it to any person who loves music.
Been in a few times and the selection is great, BUT today was the 3rd time I have turned up inside the advertised trading hours only to find the store closed. Called the listed phone number and waited outside for half an hour but nothing. Was ready to drop a couple hundred bucks but I will now take my money elsewhere.
Amazing record store! Huge collection of different genres, iconic location and very knowledgeable staff. Easy to use website and fast postage as well.
The best record store in town, now with heaps of artwork, decks for sale, band/bar/listening area,Wax is the spot for hiphop & lots of other goodies: it may not have the same amount of pricey obi-wrapped gems of Licorice Pie or the higgedy piggly selection of Northside where Mr.Thing got Heaven & Hell Is A Place on Earth that I should've got! but always fantastic for a dig.
Fairly diverse selection. Hit and miss when it comes to prices. But then again most record stores are.
Good store, friendly staff. Didnt have much of what I was looking for, but definetly has something for every genre
i dislike CDs, they sound harsh and bright, but they do not compare to a Quadraphonic Vinyl Record Vinyl Plastic Disk Which has the capabiltieis of providing multi channel music . Multi Channel playback trumps anything. let along a beautiful, freshly cleaned bit of wax sounds 5 times better than a COMPACT DISK , but for me as a stereo Vinyl , sounds better than a CD. dont waste your money buying expensive CDs which you can pay the same price to buy a Vinyl :
Great selection of unique records, chill vibe and the most reasonable prices I've seen.
Niche find. Great selection of vinyl. Super helpful, but not in your face staff. Prices what you'd expect. Turntable available if you need a listen!
A small little store right underneath Flinders Street Station, thousands of Vinyl and at really solid prices! I found some records as cheap as $1 But don't expect them to be in pristine condition, obviously!. Given the size of the store, there may not be a massive selection, with the genre focussed mostly on Hip Hop from what I could see Which is what I was looking for anyway!, yet other genres such as Jazz/Blues, Classical and even Japanese are available. A turntable plays some of the Vinyl in store in the background and the staff were really helpful and chill. Thanks for making my visit awesome, coming again soon!
