Who opens a supermarket in the morning with no bread in the shop . It's all out the back waiting for a company merchandiser to come in sometime during the day ??? I got told this by the supervisor who thought filling chewing gum is far more important. Anyway I have to stay in the shop .I'm not allowed out the back she says . Hopeless before the new store ,Hopeless in the new store .
Good place to shop, although lately finding so many items not on the shelves, so having to head across to Petone or Lower Hutt
This supermarket just got a new facelift and has been nothing but a disappointment. Always lacking in common products and too expensive compared to other supermarkets. They have a some choices but fail to stock the basics and Im not talking about 10 different varieties of apples! I’ve haven’t seen courgettes here for a couple of weeks yet Pak n Save have them all the time. Spinach and mesclun salad seems to be out of stock a lot. Useless supermarket go spend your money at Pak n Save instead.
The good: it has new clean layout that needs to get used to . Looks great and highlights the raise of Wainuiomata status. Who designed the disabled car park spots? Who saw the design and thought: "Yeah put the disabled spots for parking uncovered so they get wet in the rain". The parking for picking up online orders is covered! The cars parked there when I was visiting they we're not for picking up any online orders! The online orders should have queue forming NOT permanent parking spots! Parking spots been now updated slightly wider and clearly marked. The smooth concrete outside been roughed up bit so won't be slippery but the yellow tiles for the eyesight impaired people are failing and getting loose. While we brought the subject of inside. Who thought the bakery is good idea to be crammed like an afterthought beside the deli? Missed opportunity to be true patisserie in addition to bakery. The alcohol section is the biggest section though. The car park coming along nicely. Wide enough with good layout. The zebra crossing in frond of countdown entrance is not marked as pedestrian priority.
The shelves are not been filled fast enough it's just easier going to Petone or Lower Hutt for grocery shopping
More than compensating for their delapidated and about-to-be-replaced building, the staff at this Countdown supermarket are invariably friendly and helpful. Prices are competitive and the range of goods and stock levels generally very good. Features a superb bakery, with a variety of mouth-watering treats always on offer!
It's ok for top ups but the prices are too high compared to pak n save.
Awesome!! Staff are helpful and friendly, always. Great people work there. A well thought out placement for everything and most of the times if you're carrying your One Card.. you'll save some money. Plenty of car parks including handicap parking, parents with prams, online shoppers. I really like the easy access for those in wheel chairs.
Pride of Wainuiomata Fabulous Brand New Countdown Super Market, friendly, Kind and Professional Staff .Carries wide Range Wine, Delhi, Groceries. Lotto,Parking, Site still under development with the Oringial supermarket being demolished.
A well appointed supermarket that has most everything you need. It even stocks higher end items you might not expect from Wainuiomata. Four star as their trolley maintenance is poor 2019 and consequently are sometimes wobbly and bent.
