We had a great time in Fable Dunedin. The facade is wonderful and a nice change of scenery after all those boring rectangular modern buildings!nnStaff were exceptionally helpful towards us from check-in to check-out.nnWe had room service both for dinner as well as for breakfast- simply excellent!nnThe bath of our Waine Suite was ridiculously large and fancy, the bath felt amazing after spending days tramping in the bush…nnWe fully understand that the hotel can’t magically create windows with a street view, however a little more “fresh air” our colourful wall decoration maybe a colourful painting or a fine art photograph would add so much to the entire aesthetic!
We had a wonderful stay at the Fable, great location and stunning clean room. Chloe really made the whole experience that much better. Her customer service was exceptional and went that extra mile to make our special day that much more amazing. We will be back again knowing that she is there!
Staff at check-in: „Both rooms are the same“ n209 looks like a junior suite. 316 looks like a room in your cellar. There are no windows, I would rather call them loopholes. You can’t look through them and you can’t open them. The air in the room was really not good. It‘s a tiny rooom, there is not really space for one suitcase and never for two. The bath is small, there is no space between you an the toilet paper holder. What a design flaw! The only positive thing one can say about the hotel is the high-quality room furnishings. But all in all, not everything that glitters is gold.nnBreakfest is no buffet, you have to order a menu. Take the omlet or leave breakfest hungry… my pancakes were burned… mhh yummy…. staff at breakfest is confused. The side dishes were random placed on the menu of an other person in our group not on an extra plate.nI really don‘t know how this hotel got a 5-star ranking i give them 3.nnGood to know for car travelers: no exclusive parking area for hotel guests, you have to get a public one. At the weekend you can park in the street next to the hotel for free, but you habe to leave before 9 am on monday.
Heritage building so very lovely on the inside but the walls are very thin. Could hear people on the street as they walked by.nBed was super comfortable and bathroom was nice.nnStaff: Room for improvement, had to wait awhile long time to check-in as the gentleman was busy ignoring me. No curb side greeting or easy signs to locate the hotel. Made for a very frustrating check-in had to circle the block multiple times to find a car spot to check-in.
We stayed two nights at the Fable Dunedin in early January. The location is convenient to city attractions, but parking can be expensive. We managed to find free street parking in a nearby neighborhood. The rooms are luxurious and the service is friendly - I particularly enjoyed the welcome beverage. We didn’t find breakfast at the restaurant to be anything special, but there are plenty of nice options nearby. All in all, it was a quality stay.
