Review of Fable Dunedin Hotel – Disappointing Customer ServicennI had a highly disappointing experience at the Fable Dunedin Hotel that reflects poorly on the quality of their customer service. Upon arrival, the reception failed to provide me with a satisfactory room and, unfortunately, showed little professionalism or concern for resolving the situation.nnThe first room they assigned me had a bug, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. When I requested a different room, they moved me to another one, which turned out to be suffocating and lacked proper ventilation or windows. Feeling uncomfortable, I asked for a third room, only to be told that none were available.nnAt that point, the staff essentially told me that I would need to leave because they couldn’t accommodate me properly. Not only was this incredibly inconvenient, but it also demonstrated a lack of care for guest satisfaction. Their failure to address the issue cost them over $500 in revenue that night.nnAs a frequent traveler, I am genuinely sorry for the owner of this hotel, as it’s clear their reception team lacks the professionalism and attentiveness needed to ensure a positive guest experience. If the staff does not prioritize guest comfort and company reputation, they risk driving loyal customers away.nnI cannot recommend Fable Dunedin Hotel based on this experience and urge the management to address their customer service issues promptly.
Fantastic, well located boutique hotel. The biggest asset is definitely the very friendly, professional and efficient staff who made our stay memorable. Particular thanks to Muhammad, Nina and Joahue can't remember all names, all staff great. Only downside is the lack of parking and its expensive, albeit convenient, to use the hotels valet parking.
Really enjoyed our stay here. A small, elegant hotels with spacious rooms and an interesting history. Staff were fabulous and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.
My partner and I were a bit unlucky to have travelled down to Dunedin during the floods, but on the bright side, we booked at the beautiful fable! It's very cosy and the foyer is stunning. A highlight of our stay was definitely the selection of newly released movies on the tv. It kept us occupied during the suffocating heavy downpour. We were inside for most of our trip, so at least we had a beautiful place to stay while we waited for things to dry up. The only downside I think was the size of our room, quite small, and after a while stuck inside it was definitely a test being stuck in a small room with your partner to be fair, it could have been easily fixed by upgrading to a bigger room, but we could not afford that of course. However, all and all, fable is a beautiful, luxury hotel, definitely suitable for special occasions or when you feel like spoiling yourself.
Room we're given felt confined because it doesn't have any view of the outside world. The windows were so high up at 2m that we can't see any. Only parking option was to go valet which cost NZ$40.nWhist location was good and staff were friendly for the price per night a lot of things could have been better.
