Took over domestic assault complaint I had made 1 year ago. They interviewed the guy I made the complaint against and all though I had asked for a re-investigation they came back to me and pretty much told me that my complaint wasn't worth it and talked me out of going further with my complaint telling me, the time frame I had made it was too long, the guy was sorry, even though I acted in self defence I could get charged with assault as well and that the majestrate would be disappointed with the fact that they had brought my case forward. i felt so embarrassed and regret ever going to the police. Never again. NZ handles assault cases more diligently.
