"A well established business in the lower CBD Auckland beside Britomart, Vivace is in its 30th year. Vivace has a warm casual ambience serving Mediterranean cuisine. It is close to the city's theatres for pre-show/film festival dining - a short, 5 minute walk to Spark Arena.There is separate, intimate bar hidden behind a set of large barn doors, rather like the Speakeasies of old. A good selection of spirits, beers and a great selection of wines and cocktails.It has an extensive selection of tapas/small plates with larger main course dishes to follow. The chefs have a good understanding of the importance of caring for those with food allergies with a large proportion of the dishes having no gluten added and a separate vegan menu."

Service was good, with the exception of a difficulty splitting a pizza into a number divisible by 3 for 3 people and processing the splitting of the bill for the pizza. Food was well-made, but tasted more like fusion food rather than authentic Italian food. Environment was good. Will be open to coming back again
I’ve been a regular at Vivace for over 10 years. They’ve basically been our extended family in the city. Always friendly & fun. Can’t get enough of their delicious tapas, mains & yummy wine list. Whether you’re looking for a drink after work, romantic dinner or team gathering - Vivace will take great care of you. An institution!
Came here with my boyfriend for his birthday on the night of 30.01.2021. Googled "romantic places to eat in auckland" and found this place. The food was freaking delicious!! And the drinks were strong. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definetly come back again. Oh, and it was very romantic too
I had the duck risotto, D had the snapper, we shared a chocolate dessert. It was all divine. Brilliant service - I could not decide between wines and was offered a taste of both. A wonderfully warm ambiance on a chilly spring night. Thanks so much. Sorry the photo does not do the food justice...
Fantastic food and great staff. We had a celebration work lunch and it could not have been a better spot. Highly recommended if you are looking for a highly enjoyable place to eat great food.
Food was wonderful as always and good service too. I had pork belly, it was delicious as was the accompanying asparagus. Nice premises and easy parking nearby, but I do miss the old High st location which was amazing.
Talk about atmosphere and an amazing restaurant that really knows what Italian food is all about. Superb friendly staff, great wine list and the food bellissimo! So reminiscent of one of our favourite places in Florence..alas won't be there for a whle. With such restrictions on overseas travel what a find is Vivace.
Special occasion quick lunch, in & out within the hour. Kumara gnocchi never fails to impress & today we tried the truffle rice balls, delish!!
Great food and service!! Loads of delish options.
