Visit Ballarat

I have recently move to Ballarat, I visited the information centre at Town Hall. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing service and information I received. Jacinta was was busy looking after a few groups before she approached me. Thank you for the assistance I was given and would recommend to all new residents to do the same. I was impressed with the New Residents Welcome Booklet available at the Council Office.

What sydney must of looked like 100 years ago. Great architecture old grand buildings. Trendy coffee shops and art galleries.

Ballarat is a lovely place. The city is cute and has culture, the parklands are lovely and feel like they have attention from the council. Lake Wendoree has a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and it is enjoyable to walk around or even drive with a few lovely cafes to stop at as you go around. Sturt st is the main strip and has many older heritage buildings, the oldest I saw was built in 1965. Much of the historical significance of the old buildings has been kept from the gold rush days.

There is lots if history and interesting things to look at. Friendly people. Good beer good food.

Two very knowledgeable Ballarat locals were very helpful when I visited the information centre. They let me know about various attractions around town and the bike race on. I highly recommend this quality service
