So so good! Went with a mix of Aussie and foreign friends, everyone agreed it was the best beef pie, scallop pie and lammington ever!!!! Coffee is a little expensive but this cafe is tons better than the one opposite.
Standard service Courteous and prompt PIES Meat pie and pastry were adequate Kidney and steak okay GF options if you want to pay $9.50 instead of $5.50. I bake GF for my family, struggled to justify why it was 80% more expensive? Could understand why $9.00 for a Scallop pie, as scallops are expensive. OVERALL Clean and well organised little bakery Not the best pies, but not the worst I have ever had either. Be wary of the cheeky little sparrows.
Actually had some really nice pies from this bakery, and we've been here on a few trips when in Port Fairy. Coffee is okay and there's a good selection of food. Would definitely recommend the pies!
We ordered ham and cheese croissant, vanilla slice and a scone. The toasted ham and cheese was tasty and fresh. Coffee is smooth. The scone was Really nice! I’m glad I have tried their scone. I’ll recommend people to try their scone. 2 coffee, 2 ham and cheese croissant, 1 vanilla slice and one scone is $27.31.
Pies at village Bakehouse something of a letdown. Pastry 4/10 - soggy bottom. Filling 6/10 - tasty but simply not enough! Staff forgot my coffee but were extremely nice about it thanks all.
Visited this bakery after last visit had a beautiful hot pie . This time it was cold and claggy . It was disgusting. It was really busy but just say pies are cold then I would have gotten something else
Im local and visit quite often. But the last few weeks the pies base has been very soft and doughy. Needed more cooking or a higher temp im not sure. But a few pies have basically fallen through the base once removed from its baking tray.
We tried the homemade cinnamon doughnuts. Perfect consistency and sweetness. YUM!
Thank you for having gluten-free cellophane wrapped pies as well as regular ones. Would love to have some g-f vegetarian pies/spinach/ricotta rolls too - something to consider :. Everyone in the family could get something here for lunch.
Best scallop pie I have ever tasted, the potato pie was flavorful and exquisite. Thanks for a great and easy lunch in Port Fairy!
