I’ve been using cash in Australia for many years and this is the first time I’ve ever experienced something like this. Coming to spend money and still having to deal with a cashier’s bad attitude is ridiculous.nnPaying with card plus cash is totally normal, but the cashier rudely said “I don’t take this, change another one” just because one of the coins looked a bit old n dirty.nThat coin was not damaged, not deformed, the value was clear, and it was not fake. Refusing it just because it “looks dirty” is extremely disrespectful and discriminatory.nnI don’t know whether this cashier is the owner or just an employee, but either way, this is a terrible attitude. A cashier who treats customers with a disgusted and commanding attitude over some coins is, honestly, just using humiliation to make herself feel superior.nnThere are so many Asian grocery stores in Perth. There is absolutely no need to come to a shop like this, which humiliates customers and even sells expired products, just to get upset.
Probably the best range of Asian cold drinks in Perth, and at a very reasonable price. The staff are always super friendly to us. The place gets super busy around closing time.
My favourite asian grocer and sells my favourite sake and baiju. I am very grateful to have such a convenient store filled with super nice people.nnTip for anyone reading: it gets busy here because it is popular so I just check on maps if they are busy and I go then.
VHT Perth imports a variety of Asian food products including several leading and well-known brands. You can practically find whatever you need for your kitchen and household.
I recently shopped at this store and was charged for 4 items when I only bought 3. The checkout staff even counted the items, so I assumed it was correct and didn’t double-check the docket—my mistake. I was busy packing my things and didn’t notice until later. It might seem minor, but if this happens to multiple customers each day, it adds up quickly. I hope it was an honest error, but it’s a reminder to always check your receipt. Disappointed, and will be more cautious next time.
