We are a Dunedin based specialty coffee company, passionate about bringing people a focused and exceptional coffee experience.
All our coffees are sourced ethically, either straight from the farmer or through our network of trading partners, ensuring quality, transparency and a fair price paid to the farmers



"Our full kitchen in the center of the café offers a quirky and unique menu with delicious cabinet and cake offerings made from local, seasonal, free range and organic ingredients.In addition to offering a wide range of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options; everything is made on site.We are also Dunedins only specialty coffee roastery, specializing in light roasts and ethical sourcing of all of our coffee beans.Come talk to our roaster or baristas about how your coffee is sourced or roasted, while sipping on a latte or one of our batch brews.Try our cold brewed coffee infused with nitrogen or grab a bag of beans totake home with you."

Good coffee, great food and cool venue. The coffee is smooth and brewed well, could be stronger but probably the bean. I got the eggs Benedict and the rosti and pork belly was my favorite. It was very delicious! Would definitely come back!
Despite the many new cafes popping up all around Dunedin which is great! Vanguard is still, imo, the best place for serious coffee drinkers. Their filter is always something I look forward to, and for drip there are consistently several single origin choices. Food is awesome too, and I love the high ceilings in the space. An all-round winner.
Fantastic coffee shop with a full kitchen that serves great espresso-based coffee and food. Plenty of seating, and a wide menu of hot and cold food options. Coffee is always a hit - good extraction, excellent steaming, and served in an appropriately sized cup. Definitely worth a visit for anyone in Dunedin.
This institution use to be our regular back in the day when we use to work in town. Seems it has only gotten better. Delicious strong coffees with scrumptious bagels perfectly balanced between kraut salmon and cream cheese. Another pride of Dunedin's hospitality scene. Quick coffee stop. Experienced the same professional hospitality we have come to expect from this place over the years. The baking was perfect and the coffee was spot on. The service was exceptional. Can't wait to be back. Vegetarian options: Plenty on the menu and in cabinet. Salads and baking Kid-friendliness: Yes. Parking: Lots of paid parking around Wheelchair accessibility: Yes Dietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy free with vegan and vegetarian options.
This would definitely be a regular spot for me if I lived in Dunedin. Amazing coffee, wonderful counter items, and the eggs bene was unbelievable. Good gf options, and a sunny wonderful place to eat
Beautiful meals, huge improvement on my last experience here . Menu was great lots of variety with good quality local and seasonal ingredients. Staff were friendly . Cafe itself was a but echoey and the music was too loud to be enjoyable while trying to chat with friends . I had the eggs Benedict with pork belly and it was faultless! Can’t wait to try some more menu items
Great coffee, good food. We have tried the cabinet food and it came with just the right warmth and it was yummy. Really cool ambiance and friendly staff. Definitely recommend for the coffee!
Loved the place. Highly recommend it, the atmosphere was good, the decor is just soo nice and greenery. Service and food was good.
So so so delicious! This is The Coffee Place! Awesome vibe, delicious coffee, perfect latte art and brownies were to die for!
You can't go wrong here for your weekend treats! The best in Dunedin so far. Efficient Service. Make sure you try out brunch here too and enjoy the special eggs Benedict
