Vacanza in the Hills
"Vacanza Pizzeria, Bronte opened its doors in 2010 and two years later Vacanza in the Hills followed. Both restaurants have been attracting rave reviews from locals and critics for their authentic Southern classic Italian-style pizza.Vacanza, meaning ‘holiday’ in Italian, is the brain-child of owner Nick Gilbert, a self-confessed pizza fanatic whose passion lead him to Southern Italy, where he spent his time learning the art of traditional pizza-making before returning to Sydney. With ingredients sourced from the highest quality Italian and Australian produce, the menu also includes a selection of antipasti, pasta and authentic stone baked dishes. Vacanza boasts a well-selected list of affordable Australian and Italian wine and beers."

My friend rates this spot as the best wood fire pizza joint in Sydney. It is hard to disagree! Best thing about these pizzas is the middle part is never soggy and holds its shape.
Enjoyable meal here with the family. Buzzy, loud, busy Friday night here all good things big groups, families, couples all in here. They were really accommodating regarding our reservation as we were delayed flying in which was very kind Kids liked the arancini balls which was a first. Pizzas were good with lovely buratta on mine. Decent size, nice thin base with a bit of a crust. Dinner for 4, $160 which was two starters, 4 pizzas, two sprites, two beers and one glass of wine.
Hands down best wood fired pizza in Sydney. I literally cannot fault Varcanza. Even if you’ve not made a reservation and the place is spilling with people, the staff are beyond accomodating and friendly and will have you a spot in no time. Definitely book to save a spot though! Always coming back…best date spot
Hello : I made a booking for two at Vacanza and had the worst experience a customer can have. I cannot say anything about the food because we did not get past the "welcoming" part of the dinner. First, if you are planning to have dinner at Vacanza, you need to know that even if you book in advance, you may have a window table without any warning that you may not face the person you're planning to have dinner with, but I didn't mind too much and didn't want to discuss it further because the music was too noisy to even get heard. We didn't order right away because we were having a 7-minute talk. Not only did the waiter interrupt us twice, but he started pressuring us into ordering quickly. Explaining that we still needed a little time to make our choice did not work: the waiter started despising us, saying "maybe we didn't understand" that we had to order. He didn't admit that it was rude to say so. Nobody tried to calm him down either or manage the problem in a professional way. I'm sorry we didn't get to eat the food that is supposed to be good, but a restaurant should respect its customers and Vacanza fell short of hospitality professionalism. If you're looking for a nice place for dinner, go down Bourke and you'll find better places.
One the best pizzas I had in Sydney. Ingredients with amazing quality, the dough and the crust were on point. We had one with burrata my 2yo had an extra slice and the one with sausage with truffle oil. Thank you to the staff for allocating us even with a packed house.Food: 5/5
Yummy cheese, salad and pizzas! Fav was the special pizza. Very friendly staff and cheap g&t Food: 5/5
One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten- the perfect base with a bit of crispness and also softness, fresh and generous topping with excellent prosciutto; the caprese salad was just divine, especially the fresh and melt-in-your-mouth mozzarella. Lovely friendly service and good wine by the glass. Really enjoyed our lunch there with plenty of fresh air coming in via big doors and windows so felt as comfortable inside as out. Would definitely recommend and we plan to go back!
Vacanza Pizzeria in Surry Hills, to me, is perhaps, one of the best Pizza Restaurants in Sydney. Vacanza's pizzas are all freshly baked with the top notch ingredients, simple but so yummy. Their spicy olive oil is second to none. Every time we are craving pizzas, we would drive 25kms to Vacanza and nowhere else. Both thumbs up.
Had a great experience at Vacanza Pizzeria. Friendly staff, great service, endless options and delicious pizza’s. Coming back here for sure. Highly recommend it if you’re a Pizza lover.
Delicious pizzas. Not many vegetarian options, but the ones we had were fantastic. Try the mushroom/truffle pizza bianca. The bruschetta was unlike any I've had before with a pizza dough base rather than bread, but we all loved it Vegetarian options: Not many vegetarian options - after all, the menu is quite small. We ended up having 3 different pizzas and they were all delicious.
