The first DOC campsite we've stayed in, really impressed with the campsite! Lovely grounds and a beautiful beach just a short walk away. The staff at the gate are very friendly and helpful, the toilet and shower facilities are clean and well maintained and there is recycling and rubbish disposal facilities too. The site also offers laundry services, this wasn't advertised so we went out to a nearby town to do our laundry before we arrived, it would have been nice to have known we could have done it on site.
We truly enjoyed staying at this DOC campsite. Lots of private spots, many clean toilets plus cold free showers / coin operated hot showers, sinks, drinking water and trash bins. So close to the beach. You can hear the traffic but it didn't bother us. We will be back!
I came and stayed with a friend last minute. Allowed us to stay anywhere we could find. Clean toilets and an awesome vibe. Beach access is super easy. Sorry I got my car stuck at tip road.
Excellent job to the folks looking after the campground, the area is immaculate and we had a very enjoyable stay over at your campsite, our 2weeks stay in various campgrounds and have both agreed that Uretiti DOC campgrounds was the most enjoyable, due to the fact that it is not overly crowded and that view is excellent, coupled with clean toilets and shower, makes you guys a clear winner for most enjoyable and beautiful campsite we've been.
Second time staying here, it's a beautiful spot. It's a Department of Conservation site and it's best to book and pay online before arriving. Last time I stayed here it was summer and the camp ground was packed, now in winter its practically empty, no one else on the beach but me. Basic facilities but clean and tidy drop loos, water supply, rubbish, does have hot showers.
Gorgeous campgrounds...affordable prices...private camping areas. Right on the beautiful beach.

Good doc campground. Even at full capacity you can find a little patch for yourself. Some rubbish along the northern fence but very tidy overall. Staff are nice and friendly, facilities are tidy and well maintained. Hot shower works as expected. Few loud groups here and there but that's kinda expected when camping. Would definitely visit again
Cool little camp ground! Very popular spot in the summer months. I'd highly recommend it. It's just a short walk over the sand dunes to the beautiful beach
Really recommend because unlike ruakaka camp site you can park anywhere in the site. Also the people that run the camp site are so lovely to talk to and if you have any problems or questions you can ask them. Ps it is easy to find them as they like to go around the camp site and clean and maintain the whole camp site to a high standard. And by what I said I can easily see why so many people including myself like this place.
