U-Haul Trailer Hire

Terrible experience. Rented a truck. U-Haul franchisee uses someone else's self-storage space for self-checkout whose staff do their best with limited resources. Phone number on self-storage gate to U-Haul didn't take incoming calls. Franchisee didn't answer phone because 'didn't recognize number' so couldn't get code to get key from lockbox. Truck was delivered with underinflated tires, sensors reporting wrong tire pressures, and a damaged fuse that meant that no trailers could be attached to the truck. All of these problems had to be resolved at a proper U-Haul location. I would avoid this location and use Newmarket U-Haul.

Attempting to return a UHaul truck on a Sunday and couldn't get ahold of anyone. Not even the emergency number which was called multiple times. Luckily UHaul allowed a drop off to a much better location 3 kms away. The facility did look well kept what I could so through the locked gates.

A claimed $20 van rental ended up costing over $130 charged to my credit card! We traveled a total of 19klms and although the fuel gauge didn't move we put $10 gas for the short trip. They ended up charging me for 46 MILES and $32 fuel!!! When i questioned their numbers by email i was told that i should have taken a photo of the mileage and gas gauge and that their calculations are always in miles. 19km = 11.8 miles, not 46 that they charged me for! These people are rip off artists and should be avoided at all cost. BTW, the odometer in the vehicle i rented was unavailable as a traction control service light blocked it out.
