Very nice, quiet and clean place, with very good price!! At 2018 Jan, lunch special is only $10.80 fried rice at no extra cost. We ordered two lunch meals dine in and two take away meals, plus two drinks for total $50.90 plus using a $10 gift voucher. So at the end we spend $40.90 The fried rice surprisingly has prawn and ham with in, which is a plus!
I used to live near this place, was my local Chinese... and it used to be decent. I recently noticed it changed hands and was now on uber eats, so I thought I'd give it a go. Now I'm not a picky person when it comes to food, I'll eat just about anything. I also don't typically bother with reviews, but it seemed the right thing to do this time. This food was revolting! Tasteless, greasy mush. I couldn't eat it and had to toss it. I am now suffering from an upset stomach to top it off. Avoid at all costs!!!!
Well it's over. After many, many years of fine Chinese dining, with sometimes questionable service, the new owners have settled in after a year in the kitchen. Front of house is rough, everything we normally order on the menu has changed flavour and not in a good way. We couldn't even face the leftovers. We are not a family of foodies, but we don't mind spending the money if the food is good / great. So now we're on the hunt for a new Chinese. Shame. The end of an era.
I used to drive from more than a suburb away to eat here or get take-away. Ordered tonight and very disappointed. Will not be returning. Oily, over spiced, and the beef tasted like pork. Hope the previous owners pop up again somewhere else.
Turtle Den sets the bar very high, the food is amazing, staff friendly and attentive. We have been dining on Chinese throughout Australia and this is the best around. We have moved from the area and nothing compares. ENJOY! Max and Carmel
Was OK I suppose...had a work dinner here with about 30 of us. There was plenty of food and it was nice but all very deep fried! They made sure we didn't go hungry. The restaurant was nice but the staff weren't very helpful, it seemed like it was such big demand to get us a drink. Won't go back here again...
I have been eating at Turtle Den since my early years of high school years and I'm now 31. We ate here after getting married and returned for an anniversary dinner just last weekend. My husband celebrated his 30th here and we've had so many special events at Turtle Den and loads of casual dining in between. Beautiful food every single time! We love the banquets and my favourite is the combination birds nest, they do a killer satay too - seriously everything is good! I have introduced so many people to this amazing restaurant and they've become loyal customers too. The best *consistantly* great Chinese food restaurant you will ever go to! :
Waited an hour half for Peking duck entree which was tough meat and the skin wasn't even crispy. When l complained about the meal the owner didn't believe me. When it came to paying the bill there was no discount or free meal. Only a $30 voucher for the next visit. Which is useless to me because l won't waste my time or money to go back.
Very disappointed with the last meal from this restaurant. Totally tasteless beef and cashews. Previously the meat has always melted in your mouth - even feel the cut of beef changed. Always passed local restaurants to go there. Not so sure now!
My wide and I with our son went to The new Turtle Den last night. The food was terrible. Chicken and beef skewers totally overcooked to the point we actually think they were reheated. The rest of the food was greasy and bland. Would not recommend and would not go a second time.
