I worked here for a day and couldn’t go back. The place was disgusting!! The shed supervisor was rude and didnt even show me around or how to do the work, would just come up to me and tell what I’m doing wrong. Made fun of my name when I met him. I was never shown where to wash my hands, get a drink of water, go to the bathroom or anything. They smoke around you when you’re trying to eat your lunch.. It’s disgusting and so unprofessional. Do not work here unless you are a sucker for punishment. I would give them no stars if I could. I reserve the right to share with the general public of the treatment I received whilst employed. Ashley Newman was not the manager at the time, Shaun Shearer was manager and hired me.

Hi Imogen and valued team at Tropicana Farm Mareeba. My name is Domenic Arcella, Director of the farming business at Tropicana Mareeba. I have been in this role for approximately two months. Since taking over management of the business together with my father Patrick and Ashley Newman together with the hard work our 20 valued staff members on farm, many of whom have worked for us for a number of years, we are improving every day and have plans in place to continue to make changes for the betterment of the farm. In regard to your comments Imogen,  I believe they are untrue and defamatory. The Tropicana brand and the Arcella family have been involved in the banana industry for over 40 years and in that time have worked hard and helped many people to develop to respect and reputation we have today. The comments you have made are defamatory and if any further comments are made we reserve our right to take legal action against you. Thank you to my loyal and respectful team at Tropicana Mareeba farm. May we continue to move forward and improve in leaps and bounds despite the road bumps along the way.  Kind Regards, Dom
