Stuck in transit at the Brisbane Airport and need somewhere with a comfortable and welcome atmosphere to unwind while you wait? Or just looking for friendly and professional service? The Transit Tavern is perfect for you!

With daily chef specials and food specials that change regularly. Our kitchen is open all day. Our bar host 12 cold beers featuring some of the latest craft beers to your great Australian drops. Breakfast is served daily and an extensive coffee and cake range to choose from, why would you go anywhere else?

The Transit Tavern in the Brisbane Skygate/DFO precinct is an absolute hidden gem. The staff while not effervescent were polite, helpful and efficient. But the food was absolutely amazing. We had the Barker Creek Pork Chop with chips, salad and a creamy garlic sauce. The chop was cooked to perfection, juicy, full of flavour; the chips were hot, crunchy and in ample supply; and the salad was an absolute delite I must admit I’m normally very skeptical of “pub” salads which are usually an over abundance of lettuce, spanish onion, a few bits of tomato and way too much dressing. However in this case the salad was well thought out with a good mix of salad ingredients and a very pleasing light,and a little, tangy dressing, the perfect accompliment.nOur other meal was the Seniors Calamari with chips and Salad. The Calamari was proper calamari not that packet ring rubbish but beautifully flashed fried strips- perfection on a platennWell done Transit Tavern.
This is a great place to come to after a hard day of shopping nWhile the service is non-existent while tables are not cleaned - the food is surprisingly good. When the food came - it did not look that great - but was surprised by the flavours.
Had dinner here on the last leg of a family holiday the food was amazing. I had the lamb shank and the flavour was absolutely delicious.nThe barman was poring beers and serving tables and did a great job. He was super upbeat and friendly. I think he deserves a pay rise.nCheersnMat
Not a bad place to dine in for breakfast if you're at DFO. The food was good and there are plenty of seating. The service was a bit slow when I visited however it was around 8:30am. The food took roughly 25mins to arrive. My partner ordered the eggs on toast and I had the big breakfast! We got iced coffee and orange juice for beverages. My partner said the orange juice tasted watered down, however, the iced coffee was pretty good.
Surprisingly it was amazing!! The cheeseburger is absolutely delicious. The fries are awesomenService is greatnGreat drinks selectionnI totally recommend it!
