We took the Ferry from Auckland, which was included in a city tour to Devonport. From Devonport we walked along the coast road to Torpedo Bay Navy Museum. We also included in our walk North Head, visiting the battery and rising guns. At Torpedo bay we visited the Navy Museum and learnt much about the NZ Navy during the two world wars. The staff were helpful and one man particularly helped us with explanations including alot of political comment.

Love Torpedo Bay wharf. Popular wharf for fishing. Or just going for a stroll or bikeride. Great spot for taking photos. If you are lucky, you can see dolphins or orcas
