Torbay takeaways is impeccable. The chips have been perfect every visit for the last 10 years. Customer service is also spot on every time. Not only do they make great food, but the quality is consistently superb. The vegetarian burger is amazing! It is very rare for a small takeaway place to do vegetarian food, and Torbay takeaways do it incredibly well. The value for money is insane, $20 for a filling meal for two people? 1 scoop of chips is still a generous portion. The best things about the Torbay takeaway have not changed since I was a child.
Cant go wrong with this place. Consistently performing to a high standard for a take away shop, always have excellent service, cheap food but quality, portion size and taste are not spared and they get it done fast every time no matter if they are busy. The place is clean and tidy aswell. Always a pleasant experienceFood: 5/5

Someone bit my oyster aka partner, gave me a horrible experience because he spat my oyster out thinking it was part of the snapper ‍. I was furious!! Lol Overall the snapper was nice but burnt. To be honest I've had better. Chips we're nice & the deep fried Moro bar for my partner was yum so he says. I wanted to rip his Moro bar up to replace my oyster he spat out lol.
Torbay Takeaways are my first choice for fish and chips and burgers etc... Small local takeaway with fantastic service and excellent clean store. New management have made the place even better!!Food: 5/5

These guys are awesome! Easily the best fish and chip takeaways I've experienced in New Zealand. Bold claim, know. We ordered our chips here, then took them to the beach.... After waiting 15-20 minutes for our friends they were still beautifully crispy! Highly recommend their fish burger... They give you a generous portion of fillet packed inside a hefty bun with fresh fillings I'm always raving about this place!
