I am not one to give bad ratings...but if you're going to place "best fish and chips" then I'm going to rate you accordingly. I was very disappointed with the quality of the fish especially, it was dry and the batter felt like I was chewing through cardboard. I unfortunately will not be coming back.
Always count of quality tasty fish fillets from gulf takeaways, not the horrible frozen fish that a lot of others provide, I don't mind paying 4 or 5 bucks a piece when it's fresh etc, good chips and burgers too, thank you
Really good fish and chips! I suspect they change their oil fairly frequently, because everything is always deep-fried beautifully. It would be nice if the squid rings could be ordered individually you can only order them in packs of 6, but that would be my only complaint. Fish is always fresh and they are reasonably generous with their chip portions. Wait times can get a little long, especially on a Friday night, but with only the 2 of them working, what do you expect?
Always count of quality tasty fish fillets from gulf takeaways, not the horrible frozen hoki fish that a lot of others provide. They usually have a choice, but the snapper is always great. Big pieces beautifully cooked and well worth the price. The place looks like you could eat of the floor. ALWAYS pristine clean.
Yuck!!! Fish here is disgusting!!!!and had a very bad odour to it, I wouldn't even give the fish to my dog to eat.. It was the worst!! Very Dry and horrible, the $5 chips was very minimal also. Only suitable for 2 possible 3 people max.. The quality of the food here has dropped dramatically since I last visited almost 2 years ago.. I will never return.The only positives is its next to a dairy and the chips were okay for the little amount they gave.. Parking here is also minimal and badly located near a busy intersection.
Great place to get a cheap well made takeout meal. A Grade food certified. Great good old fish and chips. Highly recommend for a cheap quick meal. Take it down to one of the neighborhoods beaches and it makes for a great night out. You could even have a swim if the weather right.
Was nice enough. I like my batter light and fluffy. Have to say that the batter was over mixed on the day we went. A grade tody as takeaways. Cold drinks. On top of the hill on east coast bays road. Nice because the beach is a couple minutes away. Stop in and take with you. Very clean. Nice. Thanks
This place is probably the cleanest fish & chips shop in NZ. The food is great but the batter can be cooked more. The only downside is that they don't do grilled fish but I can live with it.
One of the best takeaways in North Shore . Been customer for last 10 years never had any complain . Always have my fresh burger . Thanks for the service.
