From someone who has an immense fear of the dentist - I walked in and have never looked back. Dr Ong is the most caring and non-judgemental dentist. I still travel up from Wollongong to see Dr Ong because there isn’t anyone better.
Easily the best dentist in the Shire. I found this surgery after googling for places that can help people with dental anxiety, because I have had some bad and painful experiences with other dentists in the past, and I'm so glad I found this place. The surgery itself is really easy to get to, just go up the stairs or elevator at the main entrance to Menai Marketplace and slightly down the hall. It's close to toilets. The reception area has never been crowded when I've gone and my appointments have never been late. Dr. Ong has been so nice and patient with me, even when I am shivering in the seat or asking a hundred questions. He always makes sure I am fully numbed unlike other dentists I have had and feel absolutely nothing while he works on my mouth, and checks up on me throughout any procedures to make sure I'm okay. Each surgery room has a TV screen that is mounted above the dental chair, which is great because Dr. Ong can use a small camera to go into your mouth and you can watch in real time as he points out anything that needs attention or fixing. And when he's working on your teeth he'll give you some headphones and put on a movie so you can be distracted from what's going on in your mouth. As if all this wasn't enough, the dental assistants on reception are also very kind and patient. I've had to move mine and my partner's appointments around a lot due to weird schedules, and they've been really patient and helpful. They always call after a big procedure to ask how you're going and recently they sent me a lovely card in the mail regarding my last procedure. They send a reminder text the day before an appointment, and if you're scatterbrained like me and forget to respond they'll also give you a call. After seeing they had no google reviews, I felt I had to write this to spread the word to other people. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would, so if you're looking for a new dentist these guys should be your first and last stop.
