We ordered 2 mango sagos, a hot egg custard and a black sesame ball in ginger syrup. Their payment terminal wasn't working so we had to pay cash which was annoying. Custard was disappointing. Looks like they bought it in the container they served it to us in... and just zapped in the microwave. Sesame balls were yummy but ginger syrup was watery and no ginger flavour. Mango sago was fine but not sure if it was fresh mango... Ok for the price but nothing to rave about.
Disgusting dessert, hk style dessert but they speak mandarin. Not recommend. First time and will be last time. BTW coconut sago we did not eat after we tasted cause it taste like water. $8 for this rubbish mango cake.
After coming back from HK, we decided to try this place that we’ve walked past many times before. It was so disappointing although our expectations were low already given the lack of great HK style desserts in Sydney already. I ordered the Black rice, Red bean with taro and coconut milk. It wasn’t sweet, luke warm and very watery. I mentioned it to the staff and they just took the bowl and put it straight into the sink. The girls didn’t even acknowledge me or my comments. Won’t be back here again.
Food was okay but there’s no quality and process control. The place looked a bit unkept too. It seemed to me that they were unprepared with the ingredients. It makes the wait longer. Until they improve their way of running their business, I’m going to other options.
I wish Google will allow me to put NO STAR! Horrible customer service! I was there at their official opening time 1:30pm, the shop was still closed. I thought may be 5 minutes late, I walked around for 15 minutes and it's still closed but staff was working inside. I knocked at the locked door and asked when would they open, the staff looked up at me and completely ignored me. I wait for another 5 minutes, knocked on the locked door again at 1:55pm and got ignored again. At 2pm, she finally opened the door, I said "Is your opening time still 1:30pm these days as your door sign said?", staff didn't even look at me and ignored me again. I then said "Excuse me" and she said "Excuse me" back to me in a very rude manner while she was placing chairs in the outdoor area in front of me. There was no explanation and no apology! I walked away thinking how rude she was, then I walked back and asked "I am sure you can speak English, why did you ignore me?". She then replied in a very rude tone "I am busy, I am by myself, OK?". Oh my God, she can speak English, she just chose to ignore me. I was angry and decided to walk away and will never come back. Menu looks interesting, but terrible customer service. I used to be a regular customer there, but I will never go back again. I really want to say to her "Don't worry! with customer service like this, you will not be busy for long!" but I bit my tongue and just walked away.
its rubbish. It is defo not a hongkong dessert....i order red bean sago with coconut milk.its tasteless.
Was really excited to find a Hong Kong style dessert place as my wife loves that style of desserts! The restaurant itself can do with a little more cleaning, the tables were a little sticky when we went. The menu had a good veriety of products on offer, but the taste could be better, some of the sweet soup wasn't sweet enough, as the same case with my ice tea. This place has potential but needs more refinement!!!
It has always been a long wait to get my dessert during the evening. My take away order took 15mins. The longest wait for my soup dessert in this shop is 45mins. Their canton style desserts are good, always freshly made. The shop is tiny matches the shop name and it has only a few tables. People tend to hold up their seats after they finish their food so I always prefer take away.
Poor service. Mediocre food. I’ve been here a couple of times and both experiences were poor. The first time I tried to order glutinous rice balls with black sesame and the girl said it would take 30mins and I told her that I was willing to wait. And then she straight away told me I couldn’t wait and would need to order something else. The second time we visited the was customer service was similar caliber, we took a few minutes to decide what to order and they looked impatient waiting for us, and then when it came to waiting for our dessert it took a good 30mins even though there were only 2 other customers.
It has great food but it is super popular which can compromise quality now and then. Their black sesame sweet soup is spot on and tastes very homemade. The wait can be long as service can be quite slow. Limited seats!
