The Village Bakery was established in 2000 and is owned by Damian Spyrou who comes from a long line of bakers.
As a child Damian was eager to help his father bake because of the sensory overload - a sight to feast your eyes on, the warmth emitted by the ovens and the incredible smells of the bakery. He would eat whatever was fresh from the oven – a fluffy pastry or hot bread roll and smear it with Vegemite.
Fast forward to today, Damian’s commitment to producing handmade, artisan goods using the freshest, highest quality ingredients has earned him a strong following amongst local and visiting food lovers.
The Village Bakery is filled with fresh artisan breads, a range of sweet and savoury pastries, pies and sausage rolls, soup and sandwiches available to eat in or take away. It has a welcoming decidedly family-feel, is extremely busy yet still manages to emit a laid back vibe.
“My vision was to establish a bakery that I can be proud of. I do not compromise on quality regardless of trends and fads. And, supporting the community is very important to me” says Damian.
Damian is enthusiastic about the future direction of The Village Bakery, and is eager to continually strive to innovate through products and customer experience.
The Village Bakery is open 7 days a week and trades on most public holidays.
