Very disappointed. Nice location to stop, cafe has nice landscaping. We were a group of three. I ordered three cappachinos, a vegetarian pie, and a date scone.
When I ordered the Cappuccinos, I was asked if we wanted single or double shot, I asked for double. When delivered to the table, all were covered in chocolate, and the chocolate seemed to be burnt on top. I didn't ask for chocolate to be put on top. It spoilt the Cappuccinos and there was no taste of coffee. I'm disappointed we didn't return them at the time but we just thought we would leave and never visit this place again.
The vegetarian pie was too oily. Icing sugar was sprinkled over the date scone which wasn't asked for.
Advise to cafe, don't add icing sugar to food when not asked for and don't add chocolate to cappuccinos when not requested.

Nice selection of gluten free food, and it was tasty. Reasonable pricing considering the geographic isolation. Coffee was better then expected

We were very impressed with this cafe. The setting was superb, with a beautiful garden, impressive artworks, and the Karangahake Gorge historic walkway just across the road. We were told up front that there would be a long wait for our food because of the number of people there, which we really appreciated (we went at lunch time on a public holiday, so we expected them to be busier than usual). There was so much artwork to distract us that the time flew by anyway. The food was delicious, and the staff were all friendly and accomodating. We were particularly pleased with their range of gluten free options. A really beautiful cafe. Well worth the visit.
