Story

The sparrow is a social bird that is often found in large flocks- flying, feeding and nesting amongst the company of others.
The powerful presence of the sparrow as a cultural symbol has been around for thousands of years. In numerous folk tales, ballads and poems the sparrow has been rendered as a symbol of good fortune, soul-searching and travel.
After a sea-voyage, many sailors would get sparrows tattooed on their bodies, in order to symbolise the accomplishment of completing a long journey, and finally finding their destination.

Here at The Sparrow's Nest we'd like to invite you all to join our flock and our aim is to make you feel like you have come home.

We are a quaint hideout located away from the hustle and bustle, on the fringe of Vic Park's busy café strip. This intimate sanctuary is lined with mouth watering treats to suit any palate and provides a niche where conversation flows as smoothly as our rich, aromatic coffee.

Our beans are sourced from local roasters Yahava Koffee Works. We have chosen their award winning Espresso blend, a dark style roast of 100% Arabica beans. This triple blend draws on the powerhouse coffees from Columbia, Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea, to create a rich bodied coffee, with fruit and floral aromatics.
