Quaint little pub, awesome big breakfast. First time for black and white pudding, ended up being a lot better than I had expected. Very nice staff, very helpful. Only complaint would be that they need better seating, maybe more booth's.
Came here for lunch and a nice pint of Guinness on tap. Shepard’s pie was rich and lovely and can’t go wrong with the Parma with a curry sauce. It was a lil sweet to my liking. Well portioned and priced. We loved the ambience of the pub, it’s a sort of place we’d come during winter as it’s very cosy and quirky. Service is good, hopefully they’d be able to add in a baby change table Overall 7/10.
In my top 5 pubs. The chips 10/10. Fantastic place. Guinness 100 club. Legit authentic Irish not a knock off. Thank you for having me.
Good Irish Pub meal. Best chips I've had in a long time too. Service was good.
The real deal, like being in Ireland. Awesome food, great drinks selection and friendly staff. In pictures, sizzler beef, chicken parma, Jameson chicken, braised cheek, . All delicious, my favourite is the sizzler. Sunday roast is quite the feast. Highly recommended, make sure to get there hungry and thirsty. Slainté!
Come here every Monday night for Irish set dancing classes. Highly recommend. Nice venue, good toilets and staff are always keeping us topped up with water. Curry chips and soda bread are delicious. I'm vegetarian so can't eat much on the menu, usually just a soup. Would be nice to see some of the trad Irish foods with a vegetarian option. Vegetarian options: There are not a lot of vegetarian options. I'd eat here more regularly since I'm there almost every week if there were a few good options. Main options are salad, soup with bread, curry chips. There are lots of vegetables available with other meals potatoes, mash, roast or steamed vegetables which are all vegetarian, and the staff often won't let you order those sides. Would be easy enough to swap out bangers and mash with vegetarian sausages, pie with vegetarian mince etc. Just some suggestions!
Wasn't impressed at all. I've been coming here for years and it has always been great. I recommend it to everyone including overseas visitors because they are big servings of food at a reasonable price. Well i eat my words. I was disgusted and disappointed with my Irish Stew size. It was in a small cereal bowl and was barely half full and it cost me $25. My friends thought it was an entree and actually asked the waitress this. I advised the waitress I wasn't happy - it had 4 small pieces of lamb and 2 small pieces of potato, one piece of celery and maybe 6 pieces of carrot. I know as I counted them. I advised the female staff member to let the chef and manager know this. It was just a bowl of juice. She didn't care, no offer of another bowl or would you like something else....where has customer service gone. Our entree was forgotten until we asked where it was and then it came out with our mains. My two mates had Chicken parmy and Jameson Chicken and the meals were huge, but mine was a major disappointment. Ive been an assistant manager of a pub and understand busy nights...it wasn't busy, I also understand staff shortages - there was plenty of waiting staff hanging around. Good old customer service needs to be improved and my meal should have been refunded!
I have to say coming down to Melbourne to visit a friend we have been here a couple times, I feel that this bar was as comfortable as my local. Nice atmosphere, was a little bit cold tho. I have to absolutely shoutout the redhead English girl working there though, some of the best customer service skills I’ve ever seen! She was funny, polite, poured Guinness exactly how I liked it some of the older blokes working there should learn off her Absolutely will be coming back - foods pretty good as well - proper chips as well. Will be back!
The quiet man is one of my favourite parmas in Melbourne, love the curry sauce. Friendly staff and handle big groups with ease.
Have been going to The Quiet Man since the 90s and it's always a guaranteed experience. Today I had a Sunday roast and it was hands down THE most satisfying I've had for a long time. Washed down with some fine tap beer, it was a very enjoyable Sunday lunch.
