The small steam Mussel was amazing. Even the portion for "small" was actually very generous. The chicken wings and snapper was also very good. Tenderloin was decent but unexciting. Nice beautiful restaurant located at the Grounds of Alexandria. The tables were surrounded by a diverse and beautiful floral decor. Staff were friendly but often absent from area making it hard to find someone to order or pay. Serving time was a bit slow as well. Overall a nice restaurant for a pleasant meal or a date.
Plant yourself in this place and enjoy a good meal! The potting shed offers an excellent atmosphere along with good food. Located in the grounds, you can visit around for some nice plants, flowers and decoration. Food was pretty good, it was not excellent but it was pretty nice. Portions were fair enough, and prices were a tiny bit expensive. It is a perfect place for a family or romantic dinner. Would recommend.
Good vibe, great service, good cocktails recommend the watermelon margarita. The only thing was I ordered a medium 1kg t-bone and it came out well done, it’s still good though. Dez was super friendly, attentive and professional. Will definitely come back again.
I recently had an event held here and I picked the set menu which is great value for money. The food is excellent and the entire party was happy with everything. I really recommend the set menu if you have a big group as it comes with a variety of amazing dishes! The staff were really attentive even though it was super busy.
Been here twice and the cocktails are amazing and the presentation is so beautiful. The food was nice but not great! Prices are quite steep too, but I guess you're paying for the atmosphere. Good service too. P.S. also there's a magnificent blue and yellow parrot inside the restaurant!
First time to The Grounds.on a Friday parking was a short wait, the parking staff were excellent. The host at Pottery Shed also excellent and accommodating, as were all the staff. Our meals arrived quickly considering it was pretty busy. We ordered the King Fish, lamb shoulder, pumpkin salad and Mac &cheese very delicious. Mac & cheese a must. The menu had enough options to make me want to return and try other things. I would recommend making a booking on the weekends and I’d suggest parking would take a lot longer. But definitely would come back.
We didn't have a reservation but were very surprised that as a small party of 2 we were able to be quickly and quite easily seated straight away. Food really nice, and some simple food substitutions and adjustments that we needed made were easily done. The atmosphere was lovely, sitting among all the greenery was very cool. Visiting the Disney display was great, and made meal even better. Parking: The parking was a little tricky to find. Wasn't made easy by the signs that say "ignore the signs"... which signs are we suppose to ignore? Dietary restrictions: We made the waitress aware of some allergies at the table and she made sure to not only document it in our order but then come back and check when our drinks were delivered, that her notes had been followed.
Walked in without a booking for sunday lunch, was quickly given a table at the bar. Very fun bar tender to talk with and knowledgeable about her cocktails. The food was amazing and service was very quick, amazing to see parrot at a restaurant she was stunning. A great atmosphere.
Went here for the Disney event. The clubhouse drink was so cute but I don’t think it’s worth the price. It was quite hot because the table next to us requested the fan to be turned off as it was blowing strongly, would recommend going on a cooler day as it’s not indoors. Service and food were great!
The Potting Shed is a fun place to meet up with family and friends anytime of day. Make sure to make a booking, especially during the holidays as it gets really busy. It is a very crowded and loud environment but the food and drinks are delicious. Make sure you have some extra time to have a look around the potting shed and the surrounding area of The Grounds. You will be surprised to see beautiful outdoor seating and even some farm animals.
