Story

Upon first inspection of our restaurant The Piano, we were delighted to discover an Germany vintage piano on the premises and thought it would be a welcome addition to our restaurant, considering the adjacent site operated as a Piano maker in 1857.

We are Piano Thai Restaurant & Bar, a recent addition to Bridge Road’s World famous dining district. We aim to remain true to traditional Thai recipes albeit with a modern twist of finesse to transform your dining experience

Our contemporary food is created by highly experienced Thai chefs and designed to be shared traditionally, banquet style.

The generously sized meals work to combine the contrasting and powerful Asian flavors of hot, sour, salty and sweet also suggest a wine to enjoy.

Chef’s The Piano Restaurant & Bar is headed up by ex Longrain chef Tommy.

Signatures dish Piano crispy duck with lightly spicy soy dressing and dotted with leaves of crispy Thai basil.

A hidden Jem in Richmond. Service was fantastic and attentive. Food was delicious and exactly as described. Much better dishes than your usual Thai restaurant.  We had the Salmon curry, papaya salad & fried soft tofu. All very delicious  Very happy with our experience. Definitely will be back

Wonderful restaurant. We sat next to the piano and had a 7 dish contemporary Thai dinner with drinks. Lovely food and very attentive and thoughtful service. Try the signature duck course - delicious.

I tried the Red Curry Duck, it was too much spicy for my taste, good flavour, however the duck was over cooked and hard to chew. I had the Thai spiced pudding as dessert; not worth the $24 they charged for it. The waitress asked me if I wanted tap water or sparkling water, I chose sparkling one. I got charged $12AUD for a bottle of sparkling water!

Really friendly staff, great atmosphere and dining experience.  Of course the food was really good too and had authentic flavours, which just added to the amazing experience

Such a great combo of flavours - their Winter menu is so cosy and a perfect spot for some hearty Thai food. We aren't big spice eaters but everything was super warm and flavoursome, a good level of spice. The soft shell crab is super crispy. The drinks are also quite refreshing and good balance.

I paid $88 for three Pad Thai dishes. We would have accepted this if the food was nice however, it was the worst Pad Thai dish I’ve ever eaten. Over powering citrus flavour with burnt peanuts that could not be eaten. Staff weren’t interested in our feedback.

I’d call this place the Hidden Gem in Bridge Rd. Went for a social catchup with my work colleagues recently and the service and food was just amazing! This was the first time I’ve been there and my first impression is it’s a clean and safe place to eat, enjoy, and relax. Thank you for the wonderful service and of course the food! Credit goes to front service team and Chef Sudesh. Thank you!

We recently visited @thepianothai yet again but this time to try their newly launched Winter Menu!! . Everything was so so delicious and perfect for winter...and to satisfy out Thai cravings! We ordered: • Steamed chicken Dumplings • Chicken bang bao • Grilled lamb ribs • Softshell crab fried rice . It was our second time here, and will definitely be going back. . We would definitely recommend to go and visit  @thepianothai

This is now my new favourite restaurant. We went on what was clearly a very busy night. Our food was brought out in a very reasonable time for a busy night. The food was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. The staff were also extremely nice. Thank you for a great night.

Lovely food - the duck signature dish was a standout, beautiful flavours.  Also thoroughly enjoyed the tofu main and surprisingly the entree fish cakes. Friendly service, would visit again!
