We did a fantastic tour here. Our tour guide Madeleine was a good story teller, who took us back to the early days of finding gold in Western Australia, showed us a huge $1,000,000 golden coin, and even did a live demonstration of melting and pouring gold into a bar. It was easy to imagine what a dangerous job this must have been, working for hours with hot ovens and liquid gold that will solidify seconds after pouring. Amazingly, she still has her eyebrows! The tour was entertaining and interesting for both adults and children. Highly recommend.
The tour guide was amazing! Highly recommended. The displays are interesting with a lot of history. A large variety of coins including custom designs are available. Beautiful display of jewelry for purchase.
Home of the largest gold coin! If you're a tourist in Perth, this tour is a must-try. It's an historical experience, for tourists of all ages. An actual gold bar making process is also shown, making it an experience to remember.
Excellent place to learn about gold. Be sure to check tour times before going if you intend to join the tour which is a must see for the 1 tonne gold coin, exhibits and gold pour. Try to lift the 1 million dollar gold bar. Not very clearly signed is the access to buying customized Perth Mint medallions via the retail shop if you are not on the gold tour.
The tour guide is very entertaining, adept at performing and storytelling. Witnessed the largest gold coin in the world. Saw the process of melting gold into liquid on-site and pouring it into molds to make gold bars. Also got to lift a gold bar by hand to feel its weight. It was a fascinating guided tour.
