First time visit here today. I didn't know what to expect i.e. stock levels so I pleased to be able to order online the day before. Ordering online was a breeze, they even include little notes about the ideal time to eat the products etc. When I got there around 10am, I was promptly served and informed my food and coffee would be ready shortly, which it was. The coffee was nice, the pastries were sublime. Superb quality, taste and presentation. I haven't tried the sourdough yet but it smells very good. The pastries I bought were the creme brulee tart, a Nutella cruffin, and a mini almond croissant. I am glad this place is only an hour away...but I'm sad it's not even closer!
If your looking for great coffee and food this is the place to go, The Pastry Lab, Caloundra. For a very special occasion, try the high tea - highly recommended!
Food came out before the drinks and the coffees were highly disappointing. The long black came out with zero creme on it and had clearly been sitting for a good minute before being bought out. The second drink, which was just a double expresso was sour and bitter. Clearly this place does not know their own coffee recipe, probably some of the worst coffee I’ve ever had which is even more disappointing for the price and style of the cafe. All three drinks came out separately as well.
A lil wait in line but absolutely delicious pastries and great coffee. Super efficient staff!
Read in the comments that it was better than Christian Jacques in Brissie so I was very excited to go, but I'm sorry it's not :/ Cronut was nice, bit too sweet tho, the pain Suisse was a bit burnt. Didn't try the desserts, but they look very nice a bit pricey and small size tho Overall this place is better than the average bakery in Australia but not the same level as a French bakery like Christian Jacques
