It's been a long time since a visit to this chain as there are so many great places to explore in Melbourne. We shared the Tabriz Crepe and Cheese and Potato Pancake. The top crust of melted cheese gave the latter dish a slightly crunchy experience. We were still famished however after both of these and followed up with the Bavarian Apple and Blueberry pancakes. With a scoop of ice cream each, this dinner was decadent and indulgent, but there were no stand out flavours for me. With spacious booths to sit comfortably for hours, the meal itself was a fairly decent experience. Sometimes the staff doubled up in their efforts to serve the same table, which was a little odd, but everyone was pleasant. It's good to see the Pancake Parlour still exist, but it also made me wonder if places like these need to invent something unique to distinguish itself from the rest of the competition?
Booked a table online, waiting staff didnt seem to know what was happening, restaurant was only half full. Food was pretty good, came out rather quickly. The mountain malt salted caramel was quite plain, try a different flavour in my opinion. A minute or two after we were done eating, staff asked if we wanted anything else, we didn't at that point so we said no and they came and dumped the bill at our table which felt like they were asking us to leave even though we were only 40minutes into the 80 minute table reservation
Dined in for a trip down memory lane and was not disappointed. Ordered the Traditional Bacon & Eggs which is served with two pancakes and it was delicious. The meals were pretty filling too, so make sure you bring your appetite! Pricing is definitely on the high side but I think you get value for your money here. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was a nice respite from the craziness downstairs at Melbourne Central. Would definitely come back!
Stopped in for a sweet-toothed lunch on a Sunday, the food came quickly and the service was fine. There was nothing "wrong" with any of it, but there's nothing particularly great about it either. Plus points: - quick/efficient - you know exactly what you're going to get Negative points: - it's expensive, given that its pancakes - around $70 for 2 people*, just ordering basic pancakes and a soft drink each - the queue at the checkout to pay - felt like we were there for longer than we were at the table * price at July 2022
Just stopped for dessert. High price banana split. Very delicious. Must be a mindset change as pictured specials card list the protein content and not the calories or kilojoules. Price also not displayed. Anyway the final word is lovely.
It’s my first time visiting pancake parlour after a decade and things have changed abit. I think they have improved the quality of their ingredients and what we ordered turned out very yummy. We had the breakfast with their classic hash browns and it was superbly delicious. I also ordered their raspberry coulis with mascarpone cream cheese pancake and a small serve of their hot chocolate fudge. It was the highlight for me! They were very generous with the filling too. While there was a hiccup of the service, the waiters were really kind and helpful.
Fabulous dinner and overall experience - fantastic service and delicious food. Deb was wonderful and made our trip from out of town very special. Thank you! Would highly recommend and would love to come back. Kid-friendliness: Great fun for kids and adults alike!
AMAZINGG salted caramel crunch pancake stack.. yumm, loved every bite! Did get the mini stacks which were a perfect size and not too sickly sweet. The swiss mountain malt was too die for The service was slow, it took a long time.for our order to be taken and there were lot of staff on.
Loved the food and the atmosphere here. Tried their pancakes and crepe and would recommend both. The milkshake was good too.
We visited on a Sunday and were seated straight away but waited over 40 mins for our food. We were on holiday so this didn't bother us toooo much but if we had things to do / weren't on holiday, we would have most likely cancelled our order and left. You know what you're getting going to a pancake chain, our pancakes were tasty but nothing amazing. They do have a big menu and apparently also have a low gluten and vegan menu / options you just have to ask for these menus. Drinks were okay. Husband said his cappuccino just tasted like milk, my chai was nice but they're kinda easy to get right.
