The seafood platter was the best we've ever had. Great presentation and seafood was fresh and prepared excellently. The staff were wonderful, so patient, accommodating and warm. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Bairnsdale! Easily the best restaurant in the area.
A must visit for wonderful food, great service and beautiful decor. We sat outside in the beautiful weather with our dog and were really looked after. The portions were plentiful and taststed sensation with locally source ingredients. We would happily go back their again Thank you and keep up the great work.
We were quite shocked to see the generosity in the portion nit only the taste of the food. It took some time for us to order and get the food but the quality totally compensates it. The price is considered cheap for portion and the service.
Service was outstanding, food tasted and was presented beautifully, hubby and I had the steak sandwich and the squid salad,children had chicken nuggets and chips . Thank you for having us for lunch!
I really liked having a meal here the service was awesome and the good tasted exceptional. I had the Thai curry chicken with a side of vegetables. The Spice was perfect. Very nice.
My wife and I always enjoy the fantastic meals at Old Grain Store. Last week however, the fresh herbs or something on top of my beef cheeks was NOT washed properly and full of sand. It was terrible and the end of my dining experience. Really sad as the Old Grain Store was our favourite restaurant in Bairnsdale.
I had thai green curry, special. Nice . However the other meal, duck breast was overcooked and the duck skin was very underdone Parking: Excellent street parking
I have dined here several times. I love the ambience, the friendly staff and most of all the delicious food. I had beetroot rissoto and my hubstar had lamb shanks. Well very generous sized meals with two shanks plated up. I can highly recommend this restaurant for either a lovely meal. You won't be disappointed.
Terrible place. The entree was OK, but one main was basically a heap of rice colored with beetroot juice while the other was a heap of chips and a couple of slices of eggplant in a massive schnitzel crust sitting on a few shrivelled up bits of green. Also, practically every surface in the place is hard and reflects sound well so there was a very high level of background noise. Going in that place was like taking a $100 bill, ripping it up and getting nothing in return.
Unbelievably rude! Do not recommend if you want a pleasant friendly evening. We wanted to dine here coz of all the great reviews. We arrived fairly early for dinner around 5.45pm and asked if they could seat a table for two even though we didn't have a booking. They'd only just opened for dinner and the restaurant was nowhere near busy. But instead of suggesting to come back at another time, a waitress yelled from the kitchen over the top of the other diners and said "JUST TELL THEM NO" to the young waitress who was talking to us. I don't what the other diners thought of this but I thought this was so so so rude and inhospitable.
