We discovered The Old Garage in Camberwell and really enjoyed the experience. It’s a dog-friendly café converted from an old garage, and the vibe inside is warm and inviting. The murals outside add a really nice touch as well.nnWe ordered the “Funguy” toasties, which were very satisfying, and the spicy chipotle scrambled eggs, which had great flavour and were much better than the usual chilli scramble you get elsewhere.nnThe service was friendly, and there were plenty of treats available for dogs. I’m already looking forward to going back to try their mac and cheese toasties and the French toast.

This cafe is a hidden gem with a fantastic menu! The chicken fried burger was one of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was incredibly juicy and chunky, and there was plenty of slaw. No other fried chicken burger I’ve had comes close. The fries were also generous, a welcome change from the small portions I’ve had elsewhere. And the price was spot on – great value for money. !nnThe special vermicelli chicken bowl was super, but it was a bit pricey at $32. In my opinion, that made it a bit less value for money.nnThe staff were very friendly, the place was spotless, had a great feel, and was aesthetically really nice inside.

As a vegetarian, I usually struggle with cafes as they have the limited number of standard options but this menu mentioned that all items had a plant based options besides the plant based menu on the side which was immediately a plus and very reassuring. The drinks and food were great stunning hefty grilled cheese but I would like to provide a special mention to the BEST PERI PERI FRIES I’ve ever had in Melbourne. It wasn’t just a bunch of spice with heat and no flavour dumped on the fries but actual seasoning that you could see and taste and it was incredible, hot, fresh and crispy. Definitely visiting again to try the other items and more fries.

Staffs are professional and kind. The funguy and coffee were fabulous. Highly recommended.

We love Old Garage so much! They have SO many vegetarian options and can make almost everything plant-based. My husband gets me coffee from there every second day used to be every day, but currently pregnant. It's our local but even if we move, we will forever go to Old Garage just to see Sterling on the wall! Haha. Staff are LOVELY. Top notch gem of a place.
