Good takeaway fast service. Family pack for me and son. The breakie & lunch next day. Still tasted good
No longer mandarin star, there isn't much in the menu but let me tell you the options that are available are cooked to perfection. I'm not a big fan of the Mongolian beef but I am very picky with my Mongolian lol The customer service is outstanding. And lastly I had to walk through and past the kitchen to go to the bathroom the restaurant is very clean.
Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday! I have to say i was really impressed with the Spring Rolls the best! They are the best spring rolls i've had in such a long time. The beef and cashew dish was also delicious and very flavoursome There are a few things that could be improved though. The singapore noodles i found were quite bland and plain except for a tiny bit of spice but everywhere does them differently so thats okay We also got two honey chickens instead of one sweet and sour pork and one honey chicken. The honey chicken was quite plain and didnt have much honey on it which was dissapointing. But my family loved the crunchy noodles at the bottom which were coated with basically all the honey There was barely anything in the special fried rice so that was pretty frustrating On the bright side, the wait time was great! Good service with little improvements needed. Overall my family and I did love the food, but could do with some improvement on flavours of the few I mentioned. And a bit more attention to the order so its correct next time. I will be back though, especially for those spring rolls and beef and cashew!!
We went there on Saturday 11th Jan. We will never go again. Firstly, only one out of two entrees came out so we cancelled the other. The two main dishes were full of onions. If you took the onions out there was only half a dinner. The special fired rice was very lumpy. Very poor food quality.
Good basic Chinese meals. Happy staff and quick service. A bit out of the way but reasonably easy to get to. They do phone orders too. We enjoy their soups and their Beef Ho Fung with flat rice noodles need to ask for lots of sauce For this dish if you don’t like dry Beef Ho fung.
Have been to this restaurant for over 2 years now and I have to say the standard of food has always been outstanding. The service I have found has been impeccable, never had a bad thing to say about their food or service. The price is really good and fair especially for the quality you get. Typically I get 3 meals, 2 special fried rice and typically around the 50 mark. But the portions are large enough that we have left overs for the next day for lunch. I recommend that anyone in the area or anyone visiting north brisbane looking for a decent high quality Chinese Food restaurant, look no further than the Mandarin Star at Strathpine. To mention also we have mainly had take away, but the odd occasion has lead us to eat in. We order banquets to which we normally have 6 people and we all couldn't finish the meals and took some home. The staff were amazing and pleasant and polite. Now I see that other reviews are quite the same as my experiences and everyone is completely entitled to their opinion because hey that's what feed back is all about. Yes the staff are from Asia which means they speak another language other than English. Personally I found them all easy to understand and they understood me even with my British accent so they probably had a harder time understanding me. All in all I give them 5 stars for everything. And yup we plan on have Chinese Tonight Yayyyyy! .
Don't let the rating mislead you, this food was delicious. Very well seasoned and not one bad dish. However, I would recommend ordering take away as the in house service is quite slow and poorly organised. I enjoyed the food but the timing of service was disappointing. I would definitely go back for take away just not dine in.
Table water given on arrival. Was not asked if any other drinks needed. Took a long time to be served. Only had 2 high chairs, both of which were being used on another table so my just turned 3 yr old had to sit on a standard chair at the table. Entrees and mains were served only 5 mins apart. Food was lovely.
Spent $90 and got 4 containers of very average food. More than half of the satay chicken container was onions. The pork was nice. Seshuan Beef had no flavour, just oil and chilli. "Chinese vegetables" is just pak choy in garlic flue. No other vegetables to be seen in any of the dishes. The 2 of us ate what we could tolerate and were still hungry with lots of leftovers that no one wants to eat. Very disappointing for so much money.
Honey chicken is amazing! Best chinese I've had in ages and best in Strathpine now. Always friendly service. Love the fish tank in entry.
