Having stopped in for a drink at the Kyneton Hotel a year prior, we decided to come back to try the food and stay a couple of days in the area, and can highly recommend it. The food was outstanding, certainly not the standard pub meal you can expect in most hotels, it's definitely a level above. Service is also great, and on both visits we have found Sam & Alison to be very approachable / welcoming and friendly owners, so you don't feel like just 'the paying customer'. We would highly recommend, and this will be our 'go to' spot when we return in future.
Honestly, the food there was delicious. And can we talk about the service? It was just so friendly and welcoming. The whole vibe of the place was really pleasant too. It made for a super enjoyable evening out. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're looking for a good time.
We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment huge bathroom very impressed spacious and private away from the other rooms. Food was delicious and good beer selection. Owners delightful people. Highly recommend .
Lovely historical hotel in the middle of town. Perfect size room for one person and set up just right. The newly renovated shared bathroom was lovely. Room was warm for the cold weather. Filtered water and tea and coffee on the common room. Had a lovely dinner downstairs in the lounge bar and the locals gave the atmosphere a warm safe feeling for a single female. Hope to revisit! Loved the town.
Great pub with rooms. Very friendly staff, big rooms, clean and well maintained shared bathrooms. Had a lovely meal in the pub itself. Very central.nnOnly slight negative is that we had a room that adjoined another by a locked door - and the walls are very thin, so you could hear absolutely everything in the room next door.
