One of the best bakeries in Northampton selling contemporary artisan bread. As the name suggests, they specialize in bread which gives plenty of options to choose from. I went for a Saturday morning brekkie and it was very delightful. I got the scones with cream and jam, a croissant and a sourdough cheese melt. Everything was extremely delicious. Due to dietary restrictions I asked a lot of questions and they were very clear that there is no cross contamination. I also got a cappuccino and latte which was one of the best ones I’ve had in Northampton. Definitely worth visiting and a 5/5 experience.
A clean contemporary decorated eatery. The menu is restrictive but excellent quality and value for money. You have a choice of breads with whatever you select and washed down with a wide range of coffees at realistic prices. Then you can peruse the various breads available to buy and take home. Well worth a visit to support this venture.
Yes, it is open. Head inside, up the stairs, past the yellow mellow cooking oils stand and behold The Good Loaf. It is a bakery on a BIG scale. They have a range of breads on display on a table in the centre of their cafe. Thrown together much like a House of Fraser sale. Fresh, but not Magee Bakery fresh. It’s big, but lacks the vibrancy of a neighbourhood cafe. To avoid disappointment, order online and pickup.
Happy hosts : Incredible atmosphere, great fresh produce, cake, dogs welcome, even loons.
Latte was fantastic today but depends who makes it. Sometimes it's 75% foam and 25% coffee. Marmite sour doe bread is to die for! Absolutely adore the smell of fresh bread as you come up the stairs
Thought we'd call in as we like to support local cafe's. Ordered two coffees a sausage sandwich with egg and a bacon brie and chilli toastie, coffee arrived after a reasonable wait of about 10 minutes, half and hour later we were still waiting for our food. Just went up to enquire as it came out.....my order arrived incorrectly......with cranberry not chilli jam but I could not face another half an hour wait for the correct one. What incensed me even more were the three young ladies in the till area, who seemed to spend the whole time either on their phones or having a very loud chat amongst themselves which I found very unprofessional. Sorry but we won't be rushing back
It says on the menu "The best breakfast in Northampton" and I totally agree. Very reasonably priced and everything cooked fresh, also friendly staff and lovely ambiance.
Tucked away in a residential area is this gem of a cafe. It is upstairs in an old building no disabled access I don't think so it took my pensioner companion a while to make it up the stairs to the cafe but we both agreed it was worth it. The decor is very rustic, bright and airy. Greeted by 2 staff members who were friendly and welcoming. We chose a table and looked at the menu. Array of breakfast style dishes, sandwiches, toasties etc with a good choice of fillings, cakes, pastries and plenty of drink options available too. We both opted for a toastie with homemade coleslaw and pot of tea. The sandwiches arrived less than 10 minutes after ordering and they were utterly delicious, lots of filling and made with their very tasty baked on site sourdough bread ... Absolutely amazing!! Definitely recommend that you find time to visit this establishment and try it out for yourself. Five stars
What a fantastic hidden gem this place is. Don't be put off by the entrance or the stairwell. Fantastic space. The bread is all made on site. Brilliant social enterprise supporting the community. And the coffee is amazing. Take away or sir in.
Amazing toasties. Friendly staff, good prices and yummy bread for sale
