An alternative stop over place for me as I was unable to get into the motorcamp which had fully booked cabins taken up by working contractors for roading works.nAlso contracted workers at this motel but many rooms so a few left available for travellers .nI was helped to get this room by the campground reception which was so nice of them.nI found the staff pretty helpful and friendly enough.nEverything super clean and tidy in a spacious room with kitchen area/fridge, kettle etc and room enough to spread out.
Absolutely horrible. Room number had fallen off so someone wrote it on the door with their finger in the mould and grime. Sheets had holes in them. Carpet was so foul i couldnt even take my shoes off. There was an orange liquid dripping from the bathroom light. Shower had purple and green mould. Spent 5mins there before checking out and going elsewhere. Absolute scam.
Perfect for what we needed. Nice comfortable room, exceptionally clean, grounds were tidy and no road noise. Great value for money!
Pleasently SurprisednnThe property offers excellent value and comfort. There is ample parking available, and the location is very convenient, with numerous restaurants nearby. The room was spacious, clean, and clearly well-maintained. The air conditioning was brand new and worked perfectly, and the interior appeared to be recently renovated, with no signs of mould or dampness at all.nnHousekeeping was carried out daily, with good-quality towels provided. The bathroom was particularly impressive—very spacious and seemingly a brand-new installation. The room was also well equipped with useful amenities, including a water kettle, oven, toaster, and cutlery, which made the stay even more comfortable.nnThere is only one small suggestion for improvement: adding a soap and shampoo holder inside the shower cabinet would be helpful, as it would prevent having to bend down to pick them up from the floor. Aside from this minor detail, the stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and I would happily recommend this property.
We are extremely disappointed with our experience at Furlong Lodge.nFirstly, we were told there was no hot water for the entire weekend due to a “broken pipe.” This was during a sports trip, where access to hot water is a basic necessity. We followed this up three days later and were still given the same explanation, which is very hard to believe without any visible effort to resolve it or provide alternatives.nSecondly, the room standards were completely unacceptable. My husband went to bed only to find there was no bottom sheet on the bed. When he approached the proprietor to request one, they returned with towels instead, clearly not understanding what was being asked. This is basic accommodation hygiene and should never be an issue.nWhat made the situation even more frustrating was the response when this was raised. During a conversation, we were told that in their country this would not be considered a problem. That may be their perspective, but it is not acceptable here, and it does not excuse the lack of basic standards expected by paying guests.nOverall, the facilities were well below average and not fit for purpose. The lack of hot water, poor communication, and substandard room preparation made for a very frustrating stay. People deserve to know what to expect before booking here.
