About

Just over the sand dunes from Waikanae beach, you'll find our a friendly, relaxed, beach side cafe.
Open from 8.30am till late, Monday to Sunday.

Story

Owner & Chef Craig McBrearty provides the culinary experience, having worked with top chef Peter Gordon in London, and at restaurants in Europe and the United States.
Co-owner & Manager Hilary Bowen is passionate about providing great service to complement the food that is based on fresh local produce.
The Front Room offers what Craig describes as “modern/contemporary” cuisine, with a brunch menu from 8.30am-3pm and lunch from 11.30am-3pm. Between 3pm and dinner, you can relax with a wine or beer and enjoy an antipasto platter. Dinner is from 5.30pm till late.

The menu reflects the Front Room’s location: Waikanae Beach. One of the dinner specialties, the Waikanae crab, is caught by local fishermen only a stone’s throw away.

The Front Room is fully licensed and offers a BYO wine option on Sundays and Mondays.

A beautifully decorated coffee shop with super friendly staff and delicious drinks and treats. My favourite drink would have to be the hot chocolate with coconut milk. I bring my friends here all the time and we all love it. Highly recommend going here, it's prefect for studying, working, meeting friends or just reading a good book. Homey atmosphere, spacious and friendly. I had a flat white and yummy scone. There are various types of seats for different tastest. Outdoor sitting is wonderful in a sunny day. There are desk-like tables and electricity plugs for those who want to get a bit of work done on their laptops. Many books in the bookshelves for those who prefer to disconnect from social media & Internet and contemplate!
The front room is a comfort spot where someone can come here to study or just simply hang out with friends. The service is outstanding and the staff are super polite and kind. I came here to study and honestly I would recommend it. I ordered a peanut butter and banana smoothie and I have to say I would do it again
A beautifully decorated and cosy place to work all day if you want, where you can enjoy a proper decent coffee and have a really good lunch for a very reasonable price! The team here are super attentive - proactively offering to get you coffee refills which are free - and there is plenty of space to charge your laptop etc. I will likely be a regular here from this point on...
The Front Room is absolutely my go to place. They serve delicious toasted sandwiches, cakes and more including a decent vegan range! A big plus is that the coffee is the best I have found in the area by far! It is totally a place that covers all needs - I can go there when I need to relax and chat to friends but I also see many people in there with their laptops on working. The staff are brilliant, they work so hard to ensure customers are happy including meeting allergy/dietary requirements where they can! The events they hold there are so wide too, from sushi making classes to live music events to yoga. They even held a live life painting event recently that looked amazing! There are often pop-up puppy days but they welcome dogs any day and even welcome in a large group of mums for a mum and baby coffee morning weekly. The atmosphere is calm with plants everywhere, books to read and even hand made products by local small businesses for sale. I honestly love going here! Thank you to all the staff there for all they do xx
If, like me, you've walked past this place a hundred times, do yourself a favour and go inside. It has a cozy atmosphere with three separate sections. Tons of books and plants which are always a good idea. Sensible size americano. And they warmed up my croissant without me having to ask. Best café in High Wycombe.

It’s a nice cafe to relax; touch of green plants & books give it a calm atmosphere. They welcome different groups and events which is great too. They have some vegan options which is a plus. More would be perfect. Vegan cookies & banana bread. They have yummy smoothies too.
The atmosphere is amazing with lots of greenery and the comfiest sofa seating. The drinks were as expected for a cafe, nothing special but decent. The pastries were large and really tasty. All in all this is the best cafe I have been to in Wycombe.
