Authentic Australian Woodfired pizza goes well with craft beer, local wines and Italian favourites. There's always a few pasta's and salads to choose from off the restaurant menu. The other store at 1771 Sturt St, Alfredton has a slightly different menu.

Story

Our grandfather Frank was a hard working Blacksmith in the Ballarat region, and at the heart of a Blacksmith’s shop is a fire they call the Forge. With a combination of the fire, great skill and plenty of hard work, great things are created. Take a look at our wood fire oven and you’ll know why we are “The Forge”.

The food served by The Forge is designed to be enjoyed by family and friends through sharing in a traditional Italian style, allowing all the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes. A selection of options have been created to meet individual requirements. Our selections represent our finest quality foods, with ingredients and produce purchased locally from our suppliers, to help you enjoy our regions best food.

I love the rustic aesthetic of this whole place! The menu too is so carefully and beautifully designed.nnOur designated waitress Millie was an absolute superstar and helped us with menu recommendations, and answering any queries we had about the menu patiently and kindly. She would often come by and check on us, but not too much so it wasn't intrusive.nnFood arrived in ~10min and for such a large-spaced restaurant with lots of people that evening it was surely impressive.nnThe food itself was packed with wholefoods-flavour. We were too full to try desserts, but definitely keen to return just to try them!
Pizza dough, light, well-leavened, with very flavorful ingredients. Even the dough is excellent. Flavors that closely resemble Italian cuisine. In recent years, I have traveled extensively and dined in many restaurants. This one in Ballarat is among my favorites.
Ordered The Vego Pizza. Service was slow and had to wait a while for the food. In the end, the Pizza turned out to be soggy, salty and had a strong garlicky after-taste. Couldn’t taste the cheese in any bite. Disappointed.
When a company is posting publicly begging for customers to help them stay open you’d think at the VERY LEAST they’d be giving good food!! Or at least edible food…. This was disgusting. It has so much dried herbs it looks like someone dropped the container on it and still decided it was fine… unfortunately not an “accident” though because we ordered 2 and they are supposed to be GARLIC FOCCACIA instead they’re just covered in dried herbs and inedible. Also they’re tiny compared to the usual size. Gone completely downhill since we last ordered a month ago won’t go here again
Disappointed in taste and size of gnocci, no flavour and was shocked at the size when it arrived for the price, small container and only half full , pizza toppings are far from the edge and base very soft. Spent a lot of money for this delivery to only have to take the kids to get something else, no one will eat it.
